Is this game fun for a single player? I watched gameplay footage of a multiplayer session and Wendigo deals a lot of damage and knocks players down

I noticed it does say single player on the store page but how likely is it for someone who prefers to chill alone in this game? I watched Foosters video recently covering this game and it looked fun but difficult if it was a single player unless the enemies health scales to the player etc.
Any info is welcomed thanks as im looking to buy this,

I just started playing and mainly have been playing single player bc I have no friends and there aren't many public lobbies. However I managed to beat the Wendigo case and Halloween Eternal Jack solo and have not died once yet in game. I also managed to play 2 public lobbies and join in and finish Dr. Miller and Newt so it is doable solo. I definitely prefer the Co-Op aspect though.

Solo is enjoyable. It offers more worry or fear playing solo than it does with companions.

I freaking love this game. Best item(s) to buy if you're playing solo, 2 of the auto-mini gun turrets. They offer little damage; with 2 of them, it does make a difference when you're running circles trying to reload / heal / stam boost / etc. That way, the creature(s) is still taking damage (minor, but damage nonetheless).

I keep on having weird bugs happen on solo, I get flung off in to the sky even when I am hiding inside of a building. It even happens quite often while I am at the very start of a fresh restart.
