Rockstar Games Launcher does not work on Steam Deck anymore

I had no issue playing Rockstar Games on the Steam Deck but suddenly 3 days ago the Error '' Steam failed to initialize . Please Verify that the Steam CLient is running and try again'' pops up and after pressing ''ok'' the next text is ''Unable to launch game, please verify your game data. Anyone else with the same problem ? any known solutions out there ?

I just had this issue. Switching to Proton Experimental resolved it.
Edit: Proton 8.0-2 also resolves the issue.

Had to refund it because it didn't work on steam deck. For me it kept asking to reinstall the launcher...even though I should have it already installed due to GTA 5.

It does that for all R* games! Weird steam deck quirk. Might be a linux thing.
