Beard Blade

Beard Blade

Some troubles I ran into
So I've been playing Beard Blade for a while and I'm really enjoying some aspects of the game. The music is great, there are some really fun levels, I love the sprites and some of the beard animations really are great but I made a list of some of the things that I ran into while playing (So far I made it to the second orb and collected it):

- Upwards Beard Bite - The upwards beard bite move is very clever and it has a cute animation but it's hard to make use of it because it's hard to time it right to attack a high enemy or even latch on a pole in time. I had a really hard time with it because of the timing.
- Who's talking? - When there's more than one character on screen and one of them is talking it's hard to understand who's line it is. The mouth isn't moving and the character's name doesn't appear on the text box.
- Level Ending Orb - After I beat the first boss (hooks goblin) I accidentally picked up the orb instead of the Health-Up on the left. It made me fight again against him to collect the prizes by the right order.
- SFX-less - The ending of the battle (the grab and throw) didn't had any sound effects, making it a little bit anticlimactic.
- Ducking Battle - The second part of the boss battle consisted of me ducking for three rounds of giant hook tossing. It wasn't as challenging as the first part of dodging and bomb throwing and ended with one hit that immediately resulted in the SFX-less ending.
- Quitting - I'm playing with a controller. By pressing the "start" button I'm being taken to a menu with an option to quit the game but instead of quitting it takes me back to the title menu. In order for me to really quit I need to press the "select" button and choose "quit game" again. I would have prefer a "quit to title" and a "quit to desktop" options in the main menu.
- L+R - When on the menu L and R takes me to the acquired treasures list tab and the card list tab. When choosing "options" in the menu I still have the L and R options but they don't respond, maybe they should be taken down from this part of the menu. Also, I would have preferred to go to the cards and treasure lists by pressing "select" instead of "start".
- Wide Open - While acquiring an item like a disk from a chest or a card, an enemy can still attack Branson and he can't move until the fanfare music ends.
- The Balloon Level - This level in particular was very annoying, I was on the verge of giving up. The balloon timing was off sometimes, not giving me the opportunity to jump two in a row and get to the other side. Other than that, balloons seems like the too convenient level design in a game about a man with a weaponized beard, I would have wanted to see something more original.
- Maybe it was the wind - After being attacked by a projectile, the enemies (those that attack Branson when he gets close to them) aren't getting triggered, they just stand there until they die. I would have wanted to see them at least trying to attack back.

I tried finding the game support contact but all I got was an Australian razor company called Beard&Blade. I accidentally sent them an email.

Every single thing you posted is exactly my thoughts. The missing sound effects are very strange, and make me feel like I'm playing an early access game.

The who is talking point is spot on.

And honestly, I agree too about the Beard Bite attack. Its not really useful as an attack. Maybe if it could be performed on the ground it would be better?
