Other yandere games
While we're waiting for updates , are there any other yandere games around? Most of what I've seen seem like really cheap asset flip type stuff. It's either that or visual novels. Anyone got other recommendations?

1. Saiko no Shiki (Formerly known as "Saiko no Sutoka: Halloween Edition", only, Saiko no Shiki has more Content, and probably also more Endings, Compared to the Halloween Edition).

2. Yandere School (Controversial, Due to the graphics and the Gameplay, but is pretty Good, but Relies on Stealth, otherwise, Game Over, when Caught).

3. Yandere Simulator (Controversial, Due to the False Claims of "Stolen Assets" and how long the game's Development is taking, aswell as some other things, however, the game is still Thriving, and still has a Thriving Fanbase, and is still getting New Updates, in fact, Amai's Full Week is Supposed to be coming Soon, according to the Official Discord Server, but "Soon" tends to be used, and Usually takes longer than "Soon", kinda like with Stellar Blade, which is Finally getting released, this month, and also Grand Theft Auto VI, which is Supposed to come out next year).

4. School Girl Simulator (Just a Generic Unity Asset game, however, it, Surprisingly, has a Thriving Fanbase).

5. Sakura School Simulator (It somewhat is, but only if you play it like that, although, unfortunately, for Android Users, the Violence, and such, has been Removed from the Android Versions of the game, Due to Google's "Anti-Violence" Policy... Although, with this being the Case, I STILL don't know how Call of Duty: Mobile and Goddess of Victory: Nikke have been left Untouched by Google... Kinda like with Stellar Blade somehow being Uncensored despite being on a Playstation console).

6. Doki Doki Literature Club (I mean, it technically is, but that's not the Main Focus).

7. Garry's Mod (If you want it to be a Yandere game)

8. Roblox has many Yandere games, however, unfortunately, "Yandere" is a Censored word on there, for some Reason...

9. The Last Yandere.

10. Don't Toy With Me (In a way, it is kind of a Yandere game, because of Dahlia's Actions, in it, with how She gets Jealous, Later in the game).

We almost had Ayano's Lovesick Labyrinth...

However, in Goddess of Victory: Nikke, there's some Jealousy, Sometimes, Usually with Rapi, and Sometimes with Rupee, and I swear, Rapi is a Yandere in the making, in fact, Isabel is a known Yandere, but not Deadly (Yet).

Sorry for this big Wall of Text, the Yandere thing is just one of my Top Favorite things, and once I start talking about something I Love, I just can't stop myself...

Besides that, there's also other Media and Fanfiction:

1. Mirai Nikki (Aka, Future Diary, with Yuno Gasai being the Yandere).

2. Some RWBY Fanfiction (Usually with Pyrrha Nikos as the Yandere).

3. Goddess of Victory: Nikke (I've already Mentioned why).

I feel like I'm missing some things from this List...

Cheers for the list mate, appreciate it. I have some comments about some of the stuff you listed.

1) Saiko no Shiki
For some reason I saw I got less of a yandere vibe from this one. Maybe its because Saiko's zombiness kinda overtakes her yandereness? I felt like she attacked you not because she's a yandere but because she's a zombie who can't help herself. Then again I only saw some of the earlier builds so maybe that's been changed since then.

2) Yandere School
I honestly just wrote it off initially since I thought it was a lazy YanSim rip off asset flip. Looking at it in more detail though... it might be a surprisingly decent 6/10 type game? I might get it on sale instead of full price, especially as its apparently very short.

4) School Girl Simulator
What comes up in google is this: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2582990/School_Girl_Simulator/
This doesn't seem like a yandere game? It's not even out yet, so I think it might be the wrong game since you mentioned a fanbase

5) Sakura School Simulator
I do have an android so that's a bit of a shame, but the fact you have jetpacks and rocket launchers makes it look like more of a s#itpost game than a yandere game? It does look like fun and it is free, so I'll give it a shot regardless.

Saiko no Sutoka may be the closest to defining a game delivering a yandere experience.
this is because the player's immediate reactions to the yandere character influence her behavior and she switches from loving to crazy on the spot (from the protagonist's perspective).

Yandere simulator isn't 'that' yandere. It's more of an obsessed stalker simulator if anything. You're not interacting with 'senpai' at all practically, just killing everyone who is involved with him (if you even choose to do that, because instead of going 'rage', you can just trick them into making senpai dislike them or give them a better suitor/lover, which they then spend time with instead.)

Therefore, yanderesim is basically a machiavellianist stalker simulator, rather than a classic yandere. (the way the archtype is often portrait in anime and games at least). Even then, for it to be a yandere-gameplay wise, I am missing the whole 'stalk senpai', 'watch senpai', 'follow senpai everywhere', etc. Leave senpai gifts (if you can't communicate properly you're going to do it through another means, love messages, etc.)
In fact, the game does tell you sometimes "and so you follow senpai home before returning home" or something-- but that is just it. The gameplay skips the whole yandere actions.
And in fact "before returning home?".... a real yandere would just wait outside and watch senpai eat from food she would have brought to senpai, without him knowing, basically. (or at least watch him eat all evening and then try to watch him in his bedroom.)

Yanderesim seems to be more about a sociopath or something, rather than someone in love. Someone with borderline-like issues. "It is 'my' friend, not 'yours'" such childish declaration basically. and then just killing others or getting rid of them through schemes; (machiavelianism style).

I haven't looked at the other games, but-- I did want to show that there is a difference.
and that, I don't think the yandere idea has been approached properly in most of these 'yandere games'.
Yanderes are actually Overly-Obsessed Individuals Who are so Overly-Obsessed with Someone they're in Love with, that they will LITERALLY Commit a Murder, or two...

It all started further back than before Yandere Simulator...

However, an example of a So-Called "Yandere", Who isn't really anything like a Yandere, is Isabel, from Nikke, in which, She's only Obsessed, however, Rapi and Ruppe are Potential Candidates for being Yanderes, in Nikke, mostly Rapi, especially since Nikkes are known to have NIMPH-Overloads, which can make them go Berserk.

Nagatoro is also another example.

However, Yamai Ren, from Komi Can't Communicate, Yuno Gasai from Mirai Nikki (Or, of course, Future Diary), and Saiko-Chan from SnS, are Yanderes.

Yandere is more about inner mental instability.
Simply them wanting to murder while having full logic and hearted for their love doesn't make them 'crazy', unless you find murder crazy I guess, then at least not crazy enough to be yandere.

Classicly, if someone threatens to kill a boyfriend or girlfriend of someone and they defend them by killing the attacker, they committed murder. I don't think people see that as 'crazy'.
yet, these two can both be overly obsessed and busy with eachother. It's more subtile than just thinking about one another and having this inner world be about one another.

A yandere can literally snap, turning that switch to see their boyfriend or girlfriend as a threat to their love. They can gaslight themselves into believing that the guy in front of them or girl in front of them isn't their love.
Gasai Yuno is a yandere, because she whipes her own memory in order to avoid grief and pain, and silences her empathy (using her god power). So she is switching between psychopath (no care) and full care for everything on the fly. Its crazy.

Yanderes will throw away everything they care about and even harm themselves to get what they want; their love and them together. They can use insane logic to justify actions. They can lose sight of reality because of their love...
and...
Anything happening around their love can traumatize them to a murderous, obsessive frustration, or suicidal idiation. (that last part is why some compare it to borderline, but borderline is different. Borderline is about abandonment, and the suicide is an attempt to manipulate the other into staying with them. The Yandere, really feels all hope is lost. All emotions gone. Nothing matters. They won't say a thing, etc. They just jump.)
And if the protag then saves the Yandere... the yandere snaps again, and feels that he or she is a prince/princess saved by the hero... and increased love.

Yandere's are actually crazy basically. They're very unstable.

---
Edit: That said, both Gasai Yuno and Saiko-chan are a bit of a special case.

Gasai Yuno without god powers (number 3) isn't a yandere. Even after she obtains godpowers again, she lived a life without needing to be obsessed about restoring her relationship and chances to that happy future Yuki 1 promised to Yuno 1.
Yuki 1's promise + Yuno 1 getting god power, let her to travel back in time, generating Yuno 2, which she kills and replaces.
And she in the end wanted to kill Yuki 2 to try it all over again, but fails. Yuki 2 prevented Yuno 3 from meeting him so she remained a normal girl, but she started remembering him anyway, and wanted to meet Yuki 2; which --- let to the ending, where they ended up being a normal couple (both with god powers)

Saiko-chan....
(keep in mind a lot of what I say here is theoratical. Just my thoughts on it...)
I don't think the original Saiko-chan, in other words Himura Sayaka is a yandere. Saiko-chan, the total construct is a yandere due to her Dissociative Personality Disorder issue.
However, the games hint at it being more or less a curse of some sorts involving spirits and possession, which means that Erisu an "him" (kare), (the god rabbit), may actually be spirits that possess the girl and influence her. In fact Erisu may be caused by "him", as a construct created based on both his will and Sayaka's troubles.

Sayaka has a lot of trouble keeping control when she becomes emotional (needing to cry usually). Erisu practically prevents her from feeling sad and crying when she takes over. It's only in the last scene Akira could see her hurt and sayaka was strong enough to remain in control for that moment.

If she didn't have Erisu taking over or "him" influencing her, Sayaka may have just been a normal, shy girl, that does get bullied a lot and is neglected and trouble forming relationships, but still.. normal.
You Forgot Ayano Aishi, LOL!

Besides that, Nikke MIGHT have a Potential Yandere Character (Rapi), and Yor from Spy x Family, or Nightfall, from the same Series, is also Potentially one.

What separates yanderes from kidnappers and murderers? Yanderes are supposed to be sexy kidnappers and murderers. Saiko has the violence but is lacking in the lewd department.

If you want a sexy yandere game, check out In Heat by Monsterbox. Poppy is going to wreck your manhood if she gets past the door.
https://monsterboxgames.itch.io/in-heat

Also Yandere AI Girlfriend, which is an escape room game with a yandere girl. But it needs to integrate with Chat GPT, which costs money.
https://helixngc7293.itch.io/yandere-ai-girlfriend-simulator

There's a knockoff of Saiko No Sutoka over at itch:
https://flaweofficial.itch.io/yandere-plus-escape

There's also about 20 to 30 other games about yanderes at Itch. But itch is a indie developer store and most of them are visual novels and janky pixel art games. The above look like the best ones that I could see.

Bootleg no Sutoka

The developer has not ever seen a real school before. The layout makes no sense.
The developer makes a social horror game, without even any facial expression changes. I get animating models is difficult, but its hardly trying.
The plot makes no sense. Third party wakes a guy up against the will of the girl. "Oh you must be hungry.", in the middle of the evening/night. + after you escape, even though she didn't want you to die, you just had to be tied down, she now goes for the kill because you escaped.

A hallway leads to 1 classroom, being chased, you only have 1 hiding spot, a single tall locker, and somehow hiding there works. Its the same for a locker around the corner. Heck, its so bad you can hide while being in front of her and she just steps to the spot where you were, you see her from within the locker and succesfully hid.

This game's design is terrible. Why is the developer announcing more content when its implemented content is this broken?
Never mind the part that it isn't scary. Its pretending to be scary if anything, but not even trying to be. The horror aspect is just "fog" + "Scary background sound"
which is good for horror games, but... its too predictable. (you hear footsteps even when they are far away louder than your own steps when running and jumping. The sound design is just not immersive / bad.)

"Oh I spotted you. Now I will chase to where you 'were' ". Also bad.
There is just one exit in each classroom; the dev should make the girl stalk the exit at least, but no.
Also, you get a warning when you get detected even when you don't see the girl. The girl isn't very fast and predictably throws whatever to where you stood. Its AI is the same, always.
Its too easy to hide. It's just bad for a horror game where the main focus of the horror should be on getting chased by some crazy person. And the thing that makes them crazy is them being unpredictable and hard to handle, but this is just easy to handle.

Also the main character isn't showing the main character love. Its really just 'kidnap' and ... "oh you escaped, so now I murder". Its not a yandere, its a regular kidnapper/murder. The exception is the police ending, where she apparently wants to be with her senpai and wants to die together, but the reason is unclear. I still don't see love there, just borderline disorder. That one also has burning empty lockers made of aluminium ... like how.

By the way, spam press E while walking back ward to succesfully avoid her murdering you and you pushing her over.
Dollar Store Saiko no Sutoka.
