Unable to finish Quentin's Captains Test

I have finished the game...killed all 5 Ignacios. Now am trying to finish the Captains Tests. But it appears I am stuck on this. It says Unlocking Virgio at the top but underneath it says to finish Quentin's Captains Test. So I go to the table and bring up the map and select the island with Quentin's thumbnail icon on it. I go and finish the quest, Grab the Pearl out of the tower. However, once back on the ship I see the same quest. This is like groundhog day.

I have tried it multiple ways but it still stays on this quest. What am I doing wrong? thanks for any pointers.

when you select the island, you need then to select the correct mission with quentins head. that pearl mission is not the correct one
