Is this story heavy?
I'm about half an hour in and it's so boring. Characters just won't stop talking already. The story is confusing and the characters are unlikeable. The vibe of the game feels wrong. It doesn't take itself seriously. Roll your eyes and force yourself to laugh Marvel tier story.

Desperados 3 wasn't like this. Half an hour in you were already past the tutorial and well into playing the first mission with your 2nd character. Minimal cliche story with more likeable characters.

Should I just stop? Is half the game talking and cutscenes?

The proportion of talking gets a little bit less, once the campaign setting is introduced. But you'll probably still want to start skipping dialogue if you're already not enjoying it. The objective log and markers will let you know what to do, you won't end up confused about what to do mechanically.

I will say the writing doesn't really improve. Ending isn't nearly as impactful or cathartic as either of the shadow tactics games, or desperados 3. Some of the characters get deeper and more likeable, most don't. Minor spoilers - I particularly enjoyed Toya coming to terms with deep down being ok with abandoning his ninja duties and how he actually enjoys being a pirate much more.

Thanks. I stuck with it some more. The story does slow down. And it's still boring. But there is still a lot more talking (and less interesting) than in the previous Mimimi games. Characters all feel like caricatures and not real characters.
