Is Gambit too easy compared to DIII and ST?
I only played DIII and ST on highest difficulties for towards the end of it, once I figured out the mechanics, DIII become somewhat boring as it's picking off guards 1 at a time, clear the map and move on.

From what I've heard, Gambit - by design, with character selection choices like DIII's Bounty Mody - has become even easier? That's bad news for hardcore RTT fans like myself.

What do you guys think? Game is too easy?

Played both ST and D3 on the hardest difficulties. Gambit is "easier" due to the amount of potential solutions to guard patterns for the reason you list (Being able to pick your team), which makes it faster to coming up on a working solution to a problem, not because it's inherently easier.

There is plenty of ways to challenge yourself without the game imposing it on you, from character selections to the skills you decide to use.

Although, if you found D3 boring due to its pattern, then you will find the same thing here --- picking off guards 1 at a time is like... the bread and butter of this genre, in my opinion.

It certainly is. That's what this genre is all about. Commandos BEL all the way until now. I love it. I guess I'm just having a bit of fatigue from DIII. Pushing myself to finish the Baron's Challenges at the moment but probably won't bother with bounty made.

Slightly disappointed to learn Gambit is in fact easier due to the flexible character selections. Guess I'll return to this genre a bit later once the fatigue goes away.

Be aware I've played just a few hours. At the moment I don't feel that it's so challenging.

I did like Desperados 3, my only issue it was that it felt sometime like a domino. In certain case you could kill many enemies at once. I still think that Shadow Tactics was the more interesting in solving the puzzles.

The character design in this game is more interesting, you can change the style of your playthrough depending the characters.

It starts easier and stays easier for about half the game, but the later missions are about as hard as desperados and shadow tactics.

Okay that's really cool. I'm loving the characters, and how different it does feel compare to the other Mimimi games. Making the game fresh and new.

Your characters are pretty much haxed up cheats in this game that terrorizes everything compared to other heroes from Desp3 and Stactics.

For example, reviving John early completely breaks the game. He is such a hilariously damn broken character you can clean entire map solo with him by going fully invisible, teleport-kill and insta-body-removal only to go invisible again with an insanely short cooldown.

But if you prefer the harder way and pick more normalized characters, you can still get that feeling. My advice would be try focusing on characters that suits your style and likings rather than their insta-win abilities.

It is significantly at all stages of the game compared to the other 2. You have to set up the challenges yourself if you want it to become as difficult as the other games.

I personally think the game is overall a bit easier (especially in the beginning). But later missions are still hard and take more time and approaches. It is also again possible to make your own difficulty.

Something you also have to keep in mind is that you are an experienced player. You know how these types of games work. That makes it always a bit easier. We had for example playtesters who were new to the genre who struggled a lot even in missions that an experienced player would call easy.

I think it's way easier. Some of the skills characters have seem too powerful. One of the only difficult parts of these games was the chokepoints that required a lot of thought and planning to sneak behind enemy lines. In this you just launch Suleidy behind enemy lines with Gaelle and it seems to solve all of these issues. You also have the disguise mechanic made significantly easier to use and abuse in a lot of circumstances.

LOL I played 1 mission in D3's on a trainer (invisible trainer) - It was too hard hahaha so if this is easier than YES for me :)

Still a hard game for people who never experience this genre. But the game's easier because of the experience in ST and D3.

I'm currently at the ending of chapter 2. I think it's easier for sure, as the skills of the ghost crews were much stronger than human beings :)
Many crews could easily bypass the enemy frontline, like: Afia could time stop a guard and then dash into a bush; Gaelle could easily launch crews around directly into backline bushes or enemies; Quintin could easily draw crews who couldn't climbing or swiming; Pinkus was just nasty... as no one could spot him.
Lots of tricks were upgraded with super-natural powers: Toya could call in the open and then teleport to safty; Lots of guards could be diposed under alarm via Teresa's snipe and Quintin's retrieve of arrow; Suleidy could block a large area of sight by throwing a bush - enemy sight become partial when looking across the bush.
Enemies on towers could easily sniped by Afia or Gaelle.
Easy corpse disposal with Quintin, so I could just kill or stun the enemy at distance without fearing a patrol would come.
Tier 3 enemy's much weaker, I could easily remove one with 2 crews. And he didn't sound the alarm. Haven't seen multiple in one area as well.
The combat under alarm were easier as well, as enemy couldn't summon reinforcement without the bell - 3 or 4 guards could easily dispatched. When things went wrong, it's much easily to escape than in previous games. Even things went really really wrong, the crews could be revived.
Maybe later game would be more challenging.

Based on what I've heard above, Gambit will indeed be too easy for the likes of yours truly.

Thank you everyone for your input.

Try completing a map with only one guy if you want a challenge ... i've been doing it with pinkus and John sometimes ..

They should have one more difficulty mode with more enemy setups for veterans I think.
