How to use Toya?
Aside from just Distraction --> G (and mixtures of this)? Anyone found some extra cool things to do?

Toya is a pretty simple guy to use IMO - but that's OK. So far he's one of my favorites to drag into missions.

I believe his standard kill animation is one of the fastest kill animations in the game...I think only the gun or crossbow are faster. Super useful when quite a few crew members have standard kills that take a long while to pull off.

You can use the teleport to do all sorts of risky things that you might not do otherwise because a guard would catch you. Remember, as long as you teleport out before they see you Toya can do whatever. It doesn't have to just be used for the teleport kill. A great, but simple, one you can do is walk up near a guard in the open, blow the flute to lure him away, and then teleport to a bush.

Honestly though, the lure flute has always been one of my favorite RTT abilities. Glad it's on a mobile character again like it was with Yuki in ST.

There are a lot of tricks you can do as I've just noticed after a few more hours in the game, but I think you're right that his passive abilities (like his short TTK, ability to swim, fast body drag, and even ability to climb vines which not everyone can do) really add up.

One thing I noticed is he combos VERY well with the Quartermaster since you can tag the possessed guard with the omori and get him into pretty much anywhere using that trick.

He seems overall quite strong not just because of the passives though-- the ability to tag the QM is actually very useful!

Toya and Suleidy have a 2.5s melee kill while all others have a 5s animation. the kill animation of the crossbow is pretty long with 5.8s.

hte tactic i use most with upgraded toya is throwing his marker in a bush then walking where i want the marker. from there is use the flute to attract a guard and instantly use g to switch places. if the guard is not right next to it the teleport has enough time to recharge so you can use it again when the guard is over it. since the teleport colldown is so low you normally can use it quickly afterwards to get to safety if you get detected.

i dont know if i seen it correctly but i think toya cant be attacked while in the teleport animation.

I didn't thought of that, it's a neat trick !

Personally I didn't play that much with Toya yet since I unlocked him pretty late. He has a quick kill but unlike Suleidy he can't hide it in a bush instantly, so I like to pair him with Quentin for that. Put the Omori somewhere safe, go kill a guard, teleport, use Quentin to fish the body.

Also just like in previous games, you can lure the same guard multiple times with the whistle (which has an even bigger range than in previous games), and can even combine it with other lures, like Quentin's skull. Acolytes are basically a non-issue with this combo no matter where they are.

Toya and Suleidy have a 2.5s melee kill while all others have a 5s animation. the kill animation of the crossbow is also pretty long, either 5s or ~4.8s.

5.8 sec for the crossbow, it's the longest kill animation in the game (but like in previous games you can use another char to pick up the body and instantly putting it down, skipping the animation).

how? i tried this after reading your post and the katashiro doesn't work on allies.

Ah - never realized that because as said above I usually pick up the body quickly as noted.

I wrote that badly, I meant to say that attaching your katashiro to the Quartermaster while he's possessing a guard is very useful. I'll edit the other post cuz it's specifically the Quartermaster not just "an ally"

im just interested, but why do you use the arrow in the first place when you have someone in close vicinity who could just kill them faster?

Toya works with Giselle's cannon very well - you can leave the doll somewhere save, shot him from cannon over a wall, or top of tower, do the nasty stuff, and teleport back to safety.

Yeah that is a nice combo. I think Toya works best if you use him very aggressively. Get him into an dangerous place to kill a dangerous enemy or do something risky, and he will usually get out with his teleport
