Cloudsave?
I like to bounce between my pc and steam deck but it seems this game doesn’t utilize cloud saves?

Hey we've addressed this before, but due to the current save system architecture (which uses Unity's default PlayerPrefs system) it does not play nicely with cloud save. I'm working hard to fix this in a patch, but it's a high risk change due to the possibility of corrupting people's save files that are currently playing. It will basically involve re-writing the entire save system to compensate for cloudsave while being able to transfer the old system. To offer some insight on working with a publisher + why this may take additional time: in order to implement such a risky change, it will need thorough extensive testing via a QA team. In truth: It's mostly just a result of me being a solo developer and not planning for it early enough in development, but am working to implement it at some point in the future. I understand people's frustrations and we are trying to work to remedy it. I hope this offers some insight and hope you enjoyed what you played while we work on this!

thanks for the response. im glad i purchased this game its beautiful and seems interesting. once the cloud save thing is added i will pick it up again and play it to completion but i tend to bounce between pc and my steamdeck so i cant play a game in full on one at the moment. ill keep my eye out for that update though and thanks again.

Cool, just purchased and love it. Was coming here to ask this question. As an alternative, there is an app called Syncthing that can be installed on PC and then your steam deck that can keep saves on both up to date. I use it for most apps that don't have cloud saves.

Okay, well, this might be a bit more complicated. It looks like saves are located directly in the registry so there isn't a "save" folder. I know it's a single dev and am loving the game but this is the first time I've seen a reg save solution in over 25 years. I could likely write a .bat or powershell script to export to an alt location for Syncthing but this may be wonky.

I guess we may be dependent on the dev to come up with an alternative solution that Steam cloud save can use to pick from. Otherwise this might be a single machine situation, which is sad as it would be great on my deck or other devices as well.

I'm going to put some effort into scripting this if possible and if I come up with a work around using Syncthing and a custom script I'll post it here.

well, I tried, I was able to get the scripting to export/copy working however it's having an issue re-importing on the steamdeck side. I think it will just be necessary for the dev to add a solution to copy this save to an actual file that steam cloud can pick up like it does with all other games. Bit of a bummer.

Unfortunately it looks like I lost my save file with 2 hours of playtime just by moving the game from the internal storage to the SD card when I was trying to free up space. Cloud saving would have been great in this instance, even though I only plan on playing this game on Steam Deck.
