Too Many Problems from the very start

I am going to post my copy-paste my Steam review in hopes of getting someone's attention to get this game fixed.

I was a Kickstarter backer for this game, and I wholeheartedly CANNOT recommend this game.

In what little time I have played, my controller does not work.
I've had the game soft lock after the first battle twice.
And the game has soft locked after creating a new save file.

I don't know what the hell is going on, but this is not okay.

I am sorry to hear that you are having issues with the game. Could you please tell me what kind of controller are you using? And is it connected wirelessly or via a cable?

Additionally could you please try to delete your TOME AppData folder? You can find it here:

C:\Users\USER\AppData\LocalLow\Neo-C Productions\TOME

I've deleted that folder several times. No change.
I am using a wired controller, the Logitech F310.

I am using the same controller and mine is also not working.

Just a quick note, but I got mine to work by flipping the switch on the backside from Xinput to DirectInput. It's the first Steam game I can remember that preferred Direct, but that made it work.

I just tried it. And it did not work.

However, I did try to play the game with a different character build, and I was able to at least get up to the first save point as opposed to being softlocked right after you first face Kirb.

My original build was
Animalistic
Brawler
Technical
Cold Cluster
Reflect Mirror
And I named them "Manimal"

EDIT: So I just tried again, and it didn't lock at all. The only thing I did differently was I didn't talk to anyone in the starting area. I went straight to the warp.

Don't know what changed, but controller isn't working today. I tried both Xinput and DirectInput.

So I just ran some more tests, this time with an Xbox 360 Rock Candy. And it worked ... mostly. Does not work on the Main Menu, and UP and DOWN on the DPad are inverted on everything, including the overworld. Everything else, including the Diagonals, are working just fine.
