Sword and Fairy 7

Sword and Fairy 7

Statistiche:
Should I get this game?
I'm sick of playing gacha games knowing full well their entertainment values are mid at best. They also lack romance.

So I asked Ai, if there was a romance rpg with open world elements made in the east and this game came up.

Ai makes mistakes so a few questions.

1 - Is this open world?
2 - How would you rate the replay value if any?
3 - Is this game fun?
4 - Can I start from sword fairy 7 without playing 6 and below?

1. I would say not fully open world as in you have a planet to run around on, but there are different areas you travel to whenever you want (when you unlock them) which are good for exploration.
2. I'm not sure about replay value since I haven't finished it. I am pretty sure you unlock New Game+ though after finishing the first time.
3. I find the combat exceptionally fun. The story is interesting as well. I would highly recommend grabbing the Story and Cutscene Rewrite mod from nexus. It improves on the dialog, etc., since the game is translated to English. I did play a while without it and it wasn't too bad though.
4. I have only played 7 and it's a full story rather than a continuation of a previous one.

I don't want to spoil anything—also I haven't finished it—but the romance is gradual so far. It's not a nsfw game for sure.

Another note is this is a xianxia game. Xianxia is fantasy heavily inspired by Chinese mythology, Taoism, Chan Buddhism, Chinese martial arts, traditional medicine, alchemy, etc. In xianxia there are three prominent groups or tribes: humans, fae/divine, and demons.

Basically xianxia with wuxia with magic. A good example of wuxia is Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.

Another note:
People are upset about the last update which compressed textures more, etc. However, DLSS and other features were added, such as poses for camera mode. If you'd prefer the previous version there is a way to swap to it which can be found on this board.

Personally, I'm torn between the two versions. I love taking screenshots so poses in camera mode are awesome to have. The difference in graphics quality is not massive, but it can be noticeable. You can swap between the old one and the new one so I'm thinking of playing the old one until I feel like taking a cool screenshot.
If you have enough time, you can try starting from the third (Legend of the Sword and Fairy 3). The model may not be good, but the plot and maze are very good
