Ray tracing not available on an RTX 2080 Super?

I have an RTX 2080 Super, but the ray tracing option is grayed out, and if I click on it, it says that ray tracing is not available for my current configuration. I have the latest Nvidia drivers.

Is this a bug, or is this by design due to AMD exclusivity? I found articles mentioning AMD exclusivity for ray tracing, but others saying that ray tracing will be available on both brands.

Hi there. Had the same problem. You need to have latest graphics drivers installed along with (sigh) Windows update 20H2. The options will be available once you’ve installed those.

You need to stop reading dumb articles. Ray tracing isn't hardware specific. It's driver specific. If anything, they'd make it exclusive to nVidia if that would even be the case due to them having the better performing GPU's. Update your drivers.

You need to download and install latest Windows 10 build in order to enable DXR, otherwise it will not work.

I'm using Win10 LTSC, which uses an earlier version than 20H2. That explains it. Thanks everyone.

Were you ever able to get it to work? I'm on LTSC also and had no luck with updating.

No. I played through the demo without it. It seems like this game still needs some work, so I'll wait a few months for it to go on sale.
