Well - yep it is a bit much, but understandable if you look at what ethan is. His prior experience in RE7, - the loss of his wife mia he thought would have had back and then Chris appears and kills her while he takes his daughter... and when he heads out to find her, he finds monsters again, faces dangers he faced before and tried to safe people. But that very person he tried to safe, caused another issue and trouble and killed everyone around him in the end.
Well i guess it's fine if he is on the edge when it comes to being emotional
Combined with the mandatory fist slam into the floor and you've got Ol' School resident evil gold right there!
Now he has more emotions and more reactive and of course people still complaining.
RE had way worse dialouges that nobody complained about.
