Really poor quality sound vs PS5, due to mixing and maybe compression?
Anyone else tried both versions and feeling the same? I've noticed the mixing on PC is bad, and audio seems out of sync. Mixing wise I have to turn my AMP up really high to hear the ambient sounds, where on PS5 it could be really low. However not only that, the audio quality as a whole sounds much lower res and much more compressed than the PS5, this is with tempest audio off as that sounds like ass.

Setup wise it's not much different, on PS5 I have it plugged into a soundblasterx g6, which is then line out (aka passthrough) optical to my BIFROST MULTIBIT SCHIIT DAC,which then goes into my Vali 2 hybrid amp, to my Mackie MC-450 headphones. PC is basically The same, except no G6, straight USB to my Bifrost multibit.

So the audio equipment is basically the same, except there's no passthrough, which shouldn't make a difference, but in theory should improve quality.

Yet RE8 just sounds like ASS on PC. I had it on high dynamic range and headphones.

It only went out of sync for me once even though the cutscene wasn't doing anything impact-full.

I using a pair of senhiseer hd 560s with a DAC and amp and yeah it sounds like arse and I have to turn the volume up pretty high to hear anything .

So not just me then, damnit, everything else on my rig infinitely superior to PS5, just the audio is ass, only thing worse.

Hey there, I played both demos on PS5 and just got it on here; I haven't noticed any sound quality issues, but I hadn't really been looking. If I can, I'll play through the demo on here and jump back onto the PS5 version and see if I notice anything.

Yea I will re-dl tomorrow if the hour reset after the last 2 30 min demos, the mixing is definitely different, the environmental sounds are definitely a lot quieter

Played both demos, yeah sound is worse on PC for some reason..
Still prefer it here due to higher framerate + better combat controls with kb+m but a bit of a shame... audio is very important as well for a game like this

i think the audio sounded terrific.

Quality was just as good as RE7.

Used good stereo headphones that's already fed with a tube amp & DAC, set the audio mode to Headphones, turned the Surround Sound setting on and i could hear all the noises, crows flying over my head, thumping, and all that awesome stuff, just like RE7 did.

Didn't even need Dolby Atmos even tho i already have the license.

Cool not just me I'm in the same boat. I can 1440 with 1.5 internal Res aka 4k maxed with RT and not drop below like 74fps, every other aspect bar the sound is miles ahead of new consoles. Even the IQ is much better than consoles due to their awful checkerboard and similar techniques. Still getting it on PC but my god the audio needs patching up.

it was the same with RE3 remake btw.
for some reason sound on PC version was kinda lower. Same problem was with the Mortal Kombat 10 and 11 btw. But MK was clear ports frome consols.

With Dolby atmos you can hear it much better, the crunch when you step on the snow is more immersive than with sony's 3D.

I'm not debating the 3d audio, ps5 3d audio sounds like garbage. I am comparing no 3d on both, PC sounds compressed in comparison and the mixing is a lot worse, I have to crank my amp up to insane levels to hear all the audio. Meanwhile on PS5...
