Grimoire Spells not working

So, I saved up 60 dark mana and decided to start using spells in the grimoire since it would take forever to unlock a slot on the next page or get the warlocks. However, when I try to use the summoning spell or the swamp ritual the spell does not cast despite having all the requirements. Note: I have 50+ mavka to cast the swamp ritual spell and their is no other requirement for the summoning spell.

What am I supposed to do to even use the grimoire when it wasn't explained?

You need to unlock a spell slot before you can use the spells.

Thank you! I figured that may be the case, but it was hard to tell.

So for future people:

you need to spend around 100 Mana for a slot on the second page of the grimoire before you can use the other spells.
