Recover from crash?

I am loving the game so far. It is bizarre and full of wonders.
However, it has just suddenly crashed on me.

Last I saved I was outside a jumbo yellow flower; I powered my way into the center through the shortcut path, entered the chunk in the middle that contained a pink ring, and looked at the textbox there, and at that moment it decided to crash. (either shortly after the textbox opened, or specifically when I pressed esc to leave the textbox)

I have not yet restarted the game in the hopes that there might be some method by which I can avoid losing that progress (like a dozen of collapsed spirits / insurgents very carefully drilled through). And if I do have to do it again, I'd at least like some confidence that it's not going to crash in response to the same event.

Please let me know what I can do about this.

Could you send the stdout.txt file to [e-mail]? This sounds like a memory problem that should be fixed in the next update of the game. The solution now is to just save and exit the program every half hour or so, then restart the program.
