Help with getting guns

So i've gotten to the ying flower, and i am quite underpowered for the area; and upgrades for mini, homing, and laser say "you need an upgrade to collect this" or something along those lines? Just don't understand what upgrade i need. I can still buy ammo for those weapons in the buy station

Is it bad that i am at the bud of the Ying flower but haven't completed black flower yet inside ying forest... I think i'm too underpowered tbh

Black flower shas a shop at the end that let's you buy upgrades for some weapons, you can buy those to unlock some weapons...there's also some upgrades for laser weapons and some apple trees that you can go through to get some upgrades...if you found the gatted community there are some pyramids you can do to get cannon upgrades...assuming you left the tutorial zone surrounded by the electric fence...

also...if you get any upgrade for a weapon you permanently unlock that weapon...you can buy ammunition for that weapon before unlocking it and use it...but you still need to find an upgrade to "trully" unlock it...

Unless you cranked up your difficulty (There's a REASON you need passwords for doing that!!!), you can get through that area with no difficulty with just some common ivory armor (600%) (in the present game version can be found respawning inside of every single yellow flower, which are very fast to complete).

I bet you don't have rocket flight on. press tab to fly MUCH faster, then you can usually fly past the marines before they kill you without needing to kill them.

You can also keep doing yellow flowers for health upgrades if you are still having trouble, those are useful even into the late game.

Jumbo yellow flowers contain 5 yellow flowers and it's very worth doing at least one of them as you explore. The non spoiler way to find them early game is to seek out canon pyrimids with yellow tops. The spoiler early game way is even surer to find them, but is very VERY spoilery. There are also ways to find lots of them as you progress. Jumbo yellow flowers also contain a rocket upgrade if you know where to look.

Tysm. I do have rocket flight on. I got to Richmond and i think i'm pretty sufficient right now but i will probably revisit yellow flowers

Then what are the blocks with black squares on their corners? they look like upgrades but when i try to collect them it says i need an upgrade to unlock the weapon... but they themselves appear to be the upgrade i need. is my only solution to find a black flower and find the shop? will that shop let me buy the upgrade needed and not just ammo? im currently in a secret area in a waypoint pyramid inside a jumbo flower inside a red cache inside a ying cave and would rather not retrace my steps to go find a black flower, but there have already been a number of upgrades missed inside the yellow flowers in the jumbo flower because i didnt have the upgrades needed for them...

Those are "non respawning" amo boxes, they basically, well...never respawn...those are not upgrades =) also don't worry about retracing your steps and getting out of deep areas...usually you find better ways to reach deeper areas latter on (Jumbo yellow flowers are not that hard to find on the deeper "main layers" for example)

ahh i see, thanks for the swift respons, I guess I will just need to get better used to the time it will take to explore some more. I guess my next steps will just be finishing up the cache and then going to find a black flower for the upgrades. thanks again for the info, now i wont feel too bad about leaving all that stuff behind!

it seems that the buy station at the end of a black flower is the same one found inside yellow flowers (jumbo or the ones inside jumbo? i forget). they let you buy ammo but not upgrades

Really? I could swear it was a upgrade station...well..inside the black flowers there are fruit trees...they are at the edge of those big black rooms at the end that is full of enemies and has a giant gray square in the middle (Right after the "one way")...if you go to the top there's an upgrade shop there...though the fruit trees are harder than the black flowers itself, you might be able to make it if you run for it...

Edit: I've just checked and the upgrade station is still there in the black flower...it's in the treasure room before the big black room with the gray square...if you went past the "one way" then you just passed it...I think you might be mistaking it for the station inside the gray cube, that's an amo station...the upgrade station is in the room before

ahhh your right, i was so excited to be at the end i just flew past it, going back i see it now, though now i am curious about these fruit trees, ill go check them out

Okay, so it just means any upgrade for that specific weapon, be it maximum ammo, bullet velocity, etc.
