No chapter saves

Had this problem with the game on both my laptops- While I can continue the game and it retains my progress, I can't select individual chapters, meaning the only way to replay the game is to begin from the start each time, or 'continue'. I'm assuming it's an issue with the save file location, but last time I fiddled around with it I had no success. Anyone know a fix for this issue?

In the little photos to the lower left of the screen, the ones with the red circle around them, do they have little triangles next to them? I think we're meant to click on those to choose the different chapters.

All I have to choose is 'the story continues' or whatever. Chapter 1.
