Patches patches patches
I just want to say that I am hoping for the day this game is patched into a better self. I enjoyed the original Hammerwatch, loved Heroes of Hammerwatch (hope that gets a sequel someday), and was really looking forward to this game. Got a taste in the beta and the reviews seem to match my opinion.

Devs, please continue to work on this and polish it into a gem. I really hope to purchase and play it someday with friends. <3

The Dev's flat out told me that they COULD NOT do Persistent Save Files to go from game-to-game .... fast forward like 3-4 months later and suddenly "Oh we added this feature!" ... They gave me a reason as to Why Not at launch was "Because the code won't allow for it." ... Clearly it did once enough people played for a little, realized you couldn't play this like HoH, and refunded and waited for that kind of an update.

There wasn't any deception or anything regards this. At this time, we really thought that persistent saves weren't possible with the way HW2 was built, so that's the answer that was given. But seeing how many people wanted it, our main programmer sat down to try adding it, and overnight he had a breakthrough, that yes, it is possible to add it in the end. The game wasn't originally made with the idea of "playing it like HoH" in mind, because it wasn't a roguelite. That's really how it went, full transparency.

Btw, not sure if Modus gonna post about it, we are looking into it, but there was a smaller patch released today, with this changelog:

Expanded randomized prison levels Options menu saving fix Fixed a rendering crash Fixed a level load crash Minor load fix

They're gonna sell you DLC far before they fix their botched game.

Won't be happening.

Yea they haven't released a patch for 3-4 months. Basically abandonware at this point.

dude heroes of hammerwatch multiplayer has only been functional via opt in betas FOR FOUR YEARS. FOUR YEARS

if you think anything will be done for HW2 any time soon, i got bad news for you.

Weird. My and my bro have played HOH over the years and literally never had issues, save for alike 2 or 3 d/c's.

Last December, my partner and I bought the Nintendo Switch version of this game to play together. However, all we've encountered are bugs causing the game to crash with each loading screen, and they haven't issued a single update since then. There are even reports of the PS5 version shutting down every five minutes. Is this considered a normal game?!

Seems that it's abandoned for good. Maybe they could do Heroes of Hammerwatch 2 with the content from shaftlocke tower and repurpose H2 content for roguelite HoH game.

I think it should not have been released in the first place if it had such bugs that it couldn't be fixed. They deceived users to recover the development costs so far.

No they dont, Ive just got my 2nd major main quest bug, found out a year ago they were reported and still not fixed.
Got tired, reviewed, blocked dev, uninstalled.
Really annoying paying for games which clearly dont work.

Yes its fun, until you get stuck on main quests and have to cheat all the time. Just no. There is nothing you can say to change my mind.

this game has the absolute slowest leveling i've ever experienced in an ARPG.

I've had zero issues with co-op on HoH... maybe it's your computer?
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
