Game crashes everytime
game keeps crashing when loading in to game... it just closes and nothing.

Any common denominators?

Graphics cards maybe? Processors? Windows (or whatever is) version?

I'm getting the same issue on a 3090ti with an i91200k cpu, windows 10. Same fix with "dx" worked to get me through the first room and the same problem with disappearing doors in the jail other people have noted and an immediate crash after it loads the overworld for a split second.

Win7 for me, i7 2600, GTX 1060 with drivers 473.81
Only thing I tried is limiting the framerate and changing difficulty.
Game does not get past the first loading screen.

Win 11 Pro, 3080, ryzen 9 5900hx. Crashed after loading the level. With the "dx" in launch options it crashed after exiting the dungeon sadly.

Any plans on patching the demo? I never had issues with previous Hammerwatch games before. I even used the default settings everywhere not to mess with it.

Runs perfectly on Steam Deck running compat mode with Proton GE-8.03.

Just to add in if it helps any I'm having the same problems crashing when loading finishes by default, or when leaving the dungeon with dx. I'm running win10, ryzen 5 5600x, and an rtx 3070.

I was able to fix my crashing when loading or starting a new game. At the main menu open task manager and go to the processes tab, right click on HW2.exe and click set affinity. Un-check all boxes except CPU 0. This will have the game utilizing a single core of your CPU. I'm not sure about a way to set processor affinity in Win10 or Win11, as I use Win7 still. I was able to fix my crashing when loading or starting a new game. At the main menu open task manager and go to the processes tab, right click on HW2.exe and click set affinity. Un-check all boxes except CPU 0. This will have the game utilizing a single core of your CPU. I'm not sure about a way to set processor affinity in Win10 or Win11, as I use Win7 still.
