How to use shovel?

Trying to find ruth's horse but I cant figure out how to use the shovel I see there is a shovel icon next to my other skills but not button under it? I looked in the keybinds and I don't see a key to use it?

you need to bind it with your action wheel using control

or, press LCtrl, go to the skills, and choose shovel
