Stats, ability points - tips or guide?

I search and found there are ways to respec stat points later in the game, but I am still unsure if I should spend them willy-nilly or if I should add them as needed for gear.

If they meant more damage, it would be easier to try and respec if needed, but as of now, I am always okay on both stamina and mana. I haven't died so far either.

depending on your skills chosen or your weapon's attribute dmg scale you may want to start dumping into one
