Original mode or persistent mode?

I have troubles understanding what they mean. My plan is to play the game and story alone but I want to be able to join others now and then and also host a game for a friend or two. And it would be nice to not start over every time. So I guess persistent mode? :)

If you havent figured it out. Original is Locked to the Save, unless you export it to Persistent.
Persistant allows you to play all the characters on any save, including the same one.
I believe Original is an entirely new world per character. 1 per world.

And getting a new character to level 5 takes all of 10 minutes it's not a huge deal
