Stuck on hammer island

Level 13 or so, Map fog was back when loading the save. Went back to the starting island. Delivered wine, went to go back and the boat captain is gone. went back into pirate hideout, captain matt was there in the boss area. first time was capt sinkage? but no boat captain around. no quests to do with boat..

GG. Map's quest order and level generation reset after an update, effectively bricking your save. You can salvage it by using cheats and setting the appropriate quest states needed to keep playing, but the order is pretty much busted.

RIP. i'll hang it up until christmas time and hope the bugs are gone, and that i'll want to play again. only 6 hours but i have no urge to start over or input more time to a borked save.

It's really unfortunate but for saves that are broken like that, it might be possible there won't be coming a hotfix, only saves that went on the previous update (b135 and only persistent saves) have this issue, if you skipped this update you shouldn't have any issues.

Not all hope is lost however, there are many ways you can fix it yourself, for the captain for the boat on hammer island for example you can open console with tilde '~', and type (press enter after every command)
- toggle e_cheats
- cht_solve_quest quest-seachart
- cht_finish_quest quest-seachart
- toggle e_cheats

This re-completes the captain quest and he should be available again. You can do this with all quests of course, but I know specifically this one from the top of my head.

And yes, achievs etc should still work fine since that has been added since a few patches ago.
