He bumped your post, so it shows first in the list again, he probably also wants to know the answer (Sadly I play paladin)

I tried 3 different builds with my Ranger so far (only level 20, so Master abilities are speculation, however my testing so far was done on bosses and trash mobs in the field).

1. The Yasuo Build
- Wind Weaver Max, get the last perk and max it
- Increase attack speed on your Sword Attack, defensive abilities optional
- Basically add skills to supplement spamming left click while your Wind Weaver is active
- Entangle is an important tool to use to reduce enemys armor (last perk).
- Max Dex, Attack Speed, Attack Crit Chance and Damage (Wind Weaver Gusts count as attacks!)

2. Wolf Build
- Must have two items that increase your wolf count. (Up to 3)
-- Its a sub optimal build because every time you change map, you have to resummon all your wolves, which is very slow due to the coolcown.
-- Just max out your wolf and spiritual wolf skill.
-- Wolves have their own damage scaling, and spirit wolves require Int/STR so make sure to respect to full STR/INT
-- Supplement with other skills to raise your defense and survivability.
-- Max out your Entangle healing perk, it keeps the wolves alive even in ♥♥♥♥♥♥ situations.

i currently play with 3 wolfs at level 5 and they are pretty meh

its not bad to have some distraction targets and arrow catchers but they are not that reliable and deal onyl miniscule damage,

have not used spirit of the packed yet, that might change it

my serious paladin does a better job at beeing a ranged dd then the ranger fully specced on bow, he currently deals 2-3 times the damage my ranger does on the same level

Spiritual Wolves add a lot of burst to the build and can freeze most enemies reliably.

Does your paladin deal 2-3k damage per hit then?
My ranged Ranger build hits for 1k damage at level 25, fully piercing enemy spawns at maximum range. On serious Diff.

If you spec for wolves and their spiritual counter part, the most important part is to get the enchant that increases the amount of wolves that you can summon at once. (up to 3 total), that appears on Swords and Bows.

Then its up to you which weapon you wanna focus on, to me Bow skills make a lot more sense since the goal is to have the wolfs absorb Aggro, while you shoot from far away into the enemy pack stacked on ur wolves.

Enchanted Arrows and Piercing shots (with the Cleave mod on Arrow) to wonders to kill big packs without them ever touching. Focus on Int/Str to maximize Skill damage and ensure you have tons of Mana to burn through. Rain of Arrows is also very strong, but longer cooldown.
