On multiplayer
Well, joining multiplayer a few times, to try and adventure with other peeps was kindof a step down compared to previous incarnations of multiplayer in the Hammerwatch series.

I join and someone might be way higher level than me, having gone through a huge amount of the game, and there's no warning, no chance to know anything about what's about to happen, so I instantly gained the achievement about reaching master and some other achievements, when I haven't even reached the previous level on my own yet, I think it's adept? No way did I want any of that to happen.

No bonuses gained from other classes I've played before, and no link between them so it seems there's very little reason to play any of the others once we've found our favourite.

I was hoping to play from the beginning with others, but it seems that isn't possible, as most servers started, if not all, are way beyond just starting out.

It seems like multi-payer isn't quite there at this point. I just wanted to start a game and have a chilled time adventuring with someone else, which I had previously with people willing to take the time to look for secrets and didn't just try to boss rush their way through everything, leaving everyone else in a MULTIplayer game behind.

Still open to the possibility of having a chill time playing through the whole game with others who want to just relax and adventure together with other people, having fun and enjoy finding hidden loots and all that. from the start of the game, without it becoming a boss rush and without me suddenly finding myself artificially boosted to way beyond anything I've actually earned/experienced.

the gamedev said this an hour ago:

Additionally, we are working on a second patch that changes how character save slots work in a new multiplayer mode. We originally designed the saves in a way that allowed for you to play with a host and be able to mod the character created on the host’s play session. After hearing all your feedback, we see there is high demand to be able to bring your saved character into another player’s game. We will release a second patch where there will be persistent character save slots that allow you to do this. One quick note, the modding tools will not work in the new mode with persistent characters.

don't lose faith :steamhappy:
