Where is Ruth's Horse?

I can't make heads or tails of the squiggles on her crude "map". Pretty sure that is useless. I read the journal log entry description but I still have no idea where to dig. I'm honestly not sure how anyone has figured this out (if they have). Is there something I'm missing?

For me, it was by the tree stumps right next to where I got the quest from her. I thought her map at first was like a map of the whole island, then I realized it's just right next to her lol. But like he said, there's 2 different maps apparently, so you might have gotten a different one. Mine said "hors" on the top right, and RUHT (I think) on the bottom left. I was like hors?? There's horses? Then realized hors meant the toy horse she's looking for lol. I was literally looking all over the island for horses

Worst quest in the game. I hate crap like this. You have to craft a shovel, then you have to assign it to a hotkey since the game hates fun and quality of life, then you have to use the shovel at the area on the map she says it is.

don't forget about waiting for her to come back (or going to pay to rest) if you get there and shes already asleep.
