Amazing game let down by - [spoiler alert]
I have to say, the first walkthrough was a blast. And mostly because, throughout I kept thinking "okay on the next walk through, i'll get rid of X so that he can't Y.

But here's the problem: X always Y. There's only a few choices that will make any difference in the story and none of them are important as even those who you meet in the afterlife have been rigged to always give out exactly 2 answers. Proof of that is that in my run through, the brute with a whip appears dead even though i bless him before the battle. (a bug by the way)

Further more, even evident plot point such as the flute, you only need to play it once and it will say you have attracted the red plate each time you played it, even though a) you only played it once b) you never played it more than once.

Another bunch of example: you can't kill the liar. you can't prevent the war. The chief always dies and the end choice is always you being screwed and choosing between the culture or the mountain heart.

I get it, it's indy. But come on - its also sprites only, not a full 3D world. In "Detroit becoming human" you have an insane array of branching, the best on the market today. I always wanted to see something like that pushed to the absurdly complex, and a game based on language and leveraging 2D sprites in a 3D wold (hello Wolfenstein 3D) with no facial animation was PERFECT for that.

Note: I still loved the game, just moderate your expectations.
