レース自体は非常に面白い
操作性は簡単だがテクニックも多いのでやり込み甲斐もある
マニュアルブースト(A)、スキルチャージ(Y長押し)、サイドアタック(右スティック)、ジャンプ(X)などマ〇オカートにはないアクションを楽しめる
共通スキル・専用スキルには多様な使い道、カウンター手段があり、コンバットレースとして秀逸な出来
キャラ選はマイナー作品のキャラが割と居たり賛否あるみたいだがディズニー詳しくない人間的にはバラエティ豊かで悪くないと思う
（知らんキャラに興味が湧いてディズニー+で観たら面白かった）


ただしいわゆるP2Wソシャゲで悪徳ガチャまみれなのでおすすめ出来ない
デイリー・ウィークリー・シーズンの虚無作業（ほぼ同じイベントが一生ローテ）を毎日ひたすらこなして、大量に必要なゲーム内通貨やキャラのアンロック素材や強化素材を集めなければいけない
キャラ数は90人オーバーと多いが、好きなキャラはすぐには使えない。課金か長期間にわたる廃プレイが必要
シーズンはひと月ごとに課金パスを買わないと新キャラはマトモに使えない
それプラス更に課金してガチャを回さないとマトモに使えないキャラもいる
無課金新規はクリアどころか参加出来ないイベント、アンロック出来ないキャラを眺めるだけのクソゲー
イベント攻略にはまんべんなくキャラの使用を求められるので全キャラアンロック・育成必須の圧倒的ペイウォールが立ちはだかる
ガチャ誘導が悪質で課金するのはマジで不健全だからやめとけ。半年程度待てばトークン交換で来るから温存するべき

※最近は課金パスやトークン交換のコスパもどんどん悪くなっていくばかり。新キャラは更に渋くなり、既存の不要なキャラとセット販売ばっか。マジで悪質


一日に出来る事は絞られてるのですぐにストレスフルなP2Wランクマしかやることなくなる
レベル差理不尽マッチングで課金者や先行プレイ者に性能差でボコられる
課金抜きでもキャラバランスが悪く、一生追いつけない試合が多発
高ランク帯は札束による育成度合いの差で勝負が決まり、リーダーボードは育ったキャラを何人持ってるかで順位が決まるクソゲー
無課金が必死こいて1人2人育てた所でリーダーボード上位は不可能だし、不利なキャラに延々粘着されて全く勝てないだけ


シーズン毎にアプデで追加されるのはいいが、品質管理が全く間に合ってない
バグが極めて多く、修正も非常に遅い
ゲームクラッシュするレベルは流石に1、2週間で直されるが、バグのせいで厨性能orクソザコになってるキャラとかは大抵半年以上は放置されクソバランスを強いられる
アプデの度に訳の分からない所がバグり始めてマトモに走れないコースだのマトモに使えないキャラだのが頻発
プレイヤーマナーも悪く、嬉々としてバグキャラ使うわ、わざと切断を繰り返して気に食わない人間に不利益を与えるわと最悪な連中ばっか。で、それを助長する頭の悪いオンライン仕様の数々
ちなみに働かないバグ取り班に反して、何故かUI班だけやたら働き者(無能)でどんどんUIが改悪されていく
あと致命的なのが映画の曲入りBGMはおま国で聴けない



自分はアーリー最初期から毎日やってるんで大して課金せずにやりこめてるし、クソバランスにもついていけている。バグ大量の低品質なのも諦めがついてる
が、今からやったら何十万課金コースor低額課金じゃ発狂ものの仕様&バグの数々なんで全くおススメしない
悪いこと言わんから他の高品質でP2Wじゃないマトモなゲームやりなさい

そのため金と時間を突っ込んだ人が強く、テクニックのある人だろうと無課金だと弱い。

ディズニーキャラという最高の素材と
それなりにかっこいいグラフィック素材
そしてみんなでワチャワチャできるレースゲーム素材
素材は最高のものだが「調理方法が最悪」で、結局ソシャゲである。
マリオカートには遠く及ばない。

■悪い点
・ソシャゲなので課金しないと超えられない壁がある。これはレベルとかキャラとかいろいろな要素で言える。
・レースゲームなのにテクニックはほぼ関係ない。テクニックだけでは、課金の壁は超えられない。
・ZRがアクセル。Aボタンをアクセルとかに変更はできない。キーコンフィグが無い。
・音楽は、各ステージのキャラソンとかを入れたほうが良いと感じる。
・Switch版と同等の操作性にはできない。SwitchプロコンやXbox Seriesコントローラを使っても同等にはできない。ABXY問題が露呈するのもプレイする意欲がそがれる点である。

■良い点
・キャラが最高。
・グラもがんばってる。
・SwitchとSteamで同じセーブデータを使える。

■改善ポイント
買い切りにして、課金要素とレベルや育成要素をすべて排除することで、大幅改善されると思う。全く違う製品名で、ソシャゲ要素をすべて削った買い切り版を出してくれれば買うと思う。ソシャゲであることがすべての元凶である。

Disney Speedstorm has two sides: A good kart racer on one side, but an extremely predatory pay-to-win micro transaction hell on the other side. If you just look at Speedstorm for its racing gameplay, yes, its a good kart racer that is fun. But if you look at literally anything else the game just isn't good. The prices for racer and crew shards are just absolutely absurd. $30 for 10x shards which isn't even enough for the characters unique is wild. And not to mention the FOMO is through the roof. Its worse than any other game I have ever played. If you miss out on previous season racers, you have to endure a gacha box that skews your chances of getting the racer you desire.

TLDR: FOMO, gacha, pay-to-win, but a good kart racer at its core.

Edit: With the release of F2P, pay-to-win seems to have gotten worse. Some of the prices got an increase. You can play Speedstorm, but just don't spend any money on it. Speak with your wallet!

Pay to win garbage. Don't invest time or money into this game. One of three things will happen if you do.
1) You'll be f2p and spend well over a month to get just one racer to semi competitive ready. Along the way you'll miss a ton of events and collectibles as the game urges you to pay and you'll never win the time trial cups the game offers regularly.
2) You'll put in a few dollars to get started. it'll feel good at first until you realize how easily you can be outbid in ranked modes such as online races.
3) You dump an unhealthy amount of money into the game, constantly winning with your wallet rather than skill progression. Eventually the game ends service since it can't rely on the few whales to keep it afloat and you'll go on to some other gacha garbage to encourage more scams like this. Thanks for being part of the problem.

I could make a spiel about how the game has "potential" since there's a lot of good bits like racing mechanics, tracks, music, etc but we all know things will never turn around in situations like this. They never do.
Don't support pay to win gacha.

画面が強制フルスクリーンしか設定できない
ウィンドウモードや起動ディスプレイ設定もないためゲーム用モニタでプレイすることができず論外

ゲーム部分は面白そうなので様子見していたが配信当初から半年以上放置されてるので残念ながら低評価とする

This game is really good but it's honestly embarrassing to recommend.

Pros:
* You can play with friends as long as everyone completes the starter circuit.
* This entails you have access to all characters at a regulated level and private play which is full fair play.
* Soundtrack is amazing. Best i've ever heard for a game besides rocket league
*Models need a little work cuz mickey's ears for example are shaped like octogons instead of circles but the * car models are really nice looking.
Full Cross-Platform compatibility (even with mobile) which all games like these thrive on

Cons:
* Literally everything else about the game:
* Ranked Multiplayer gacha'd to death even after they made an attempt to balance the leveling matchmaking over MPR(Multiplayer Rank) patch. Depending on how high you go you can still encounter maxed out racers regardless of level
* The store is overpriced garbage however you look at it. some bundles are worth over $100 when you ignore the "marketed sale" they provide which is just a scummy scheme to make it seem like you're saving prices.
* This game is obviously catered to mobile consumers with the way how outrageous the prices are and the problem is that children is what this game's business model will attract and could lead to a lot of mindless spending on the useless pay-to-win gacha system they implemented.
* The only little compensation this gacha racer has made was the ranked rewards system which is FINITE. This system is a feature in ranked where every character you race with receives small rewards of in game currency, personal character shards and multiplayer coins (Cosmetic currency) (costs real money) to be rewarded in increments. The problem is the rewards never reset per season and they made SUCH A SELFISH DECISION as to increasing the rewards this patch because they are aware the rewards were literally crumbs of what is required to upgrade a character in an article it stated, "veteran players will not be able to benefit from the aforementioned increase in rewards" meaning if you maxed out your mpr before the ranked system feels like pay to win, you just simply miss out of the extra rewards you desperately need and you get no benefit from the patch.
They're insulting their diehard players and basically telling them well. just spend money like everybody else then. A game that treats their most dedicated players badly is not a game. It's just a scummy business model.
* The game has a terrible upgrade system which is again is like mobile game. Sad part is the game plays as good as Sonic Team Racing or Mario Kart 8 it's just wasted potential.
Upgrades for a character can only be received daily at complete random by limited timed events or weekly but the limited timed events that have been provided for you. You would never catch up to a pay to win player.
* Lootboxes to upgrade. How is this not illegal? I thought lootboxes were banned in most countries.
* Don't even get me started on the character shard system. The shard system works in a way where you have 3 variants of character:
Blue(common)
Purple(Epic)
and gold(Legendary)
Purple and Gold basically are the rarest shards that would have under 1% guarantee in the lootboxes they have for free users to access daily.
The issue is that characters all require the same amount of shards to upgrade meaning you can kiss ever maxing a legendary character in your lifetime goodbye without spending money into the game.
The daily shop charges shards that they are aware of that one of your characters is close to upgrading with the real money currency almost teasing you in a sense for $10+.
There are some characters that have "sales" to getting shards (not the full 10 shards required to unlock the character) for over $10.. and the most i've seen for a character was $30 for 5 legendary shards.
WHY. THE. ****. WOULD ANYBODY SPEND THAT MUCH MONEY ON A CHARACTER THEY DON'T EVEN OBTAIN AFTER THE TRANSACTION.
WHO THE HELL IS COMING UP WITH THESE IDEAS? I just wanna talk..
* Even buying the battlepass is no guarantee to own a 5 star character because the battlepass only provides what looks like an adequate edge above a free to play player but no guarantee of maxing a player even after completing the battlepasses.
The pros are:
- you can pretty much have a greater chance for owning all the characters for that battlepass which is fair,
-however it seems kinda odd that you can't max a character after spending money in the game.
- To me, i think it's better than nothing but everyone is not equally fortunate so I find it kinda unfair if you wanted to use those characters you practically paid for in ranked.
- You can still play with them but you definitely can't peak in the ranked rewards.
* The rewards in this game literally just feel like a reimbursement after investing in the game
Because game really is lacking a respectable and reasonable upgrade system.
* Upgrading characters is complete gacha and you have to get lucky to get a just a shard of a character's upgrade from lootboxes or pay through the teeth for everything you want.
* At this point this game might has well should've just been a buy to play and take this entire star, shard upgrade garbage out of the game because I hate seeing games like this and overwatch being killed not for the gameplay being bad but how stupid the micro-transactional management and how unreliable the patches can be.

TL:DR
If you wanna play this game casually or like cart racers, it is mechanically good, one of the greatest cart racers you can get for free to date in my opinion.
Just don't invest in this money grabbing, Overwatch-like managed for cart racers, game.
I'm surprised it's not negatively reviewed because of it at this point.

I hate this game because it's so fun. Let me explain. If this game had been a $60 or even $70 release with planned DLC for racer packs and stuff, I'd have given it a thumbs up. The racing is tight, the progression of the characters is interesting, the skills and unique abilities are legitimately enjoyable. However, if you couldn't tell by my thumbs down or by the fact that it's a "free" game (emphasis on the air quotes), it's not a $60 or $70 release with planned DLC. This is a gacha game pretending to be a great cart racer. Not only that, but it's a very predatory gacha game, complete with:
Loot Boxes
Confusing currencies
Inconvenient currency exchange (explained below)
Fear of missing out tactics with time based events limiting when you can get characters
Shard system to star up your characters in order to unlock more abilities
Online competitive scene favoring the whales who spend to max star their racers
Demo races with paid characters to show how good they are, which seem to be suspiciously easy...?


The loot boxes are 500 currency each. They give between 2-8 shards. A character requires 10 shards to own. So, one Loot Box can't even get you a character. 500 currency is equivalent to just under $5. Why under? Because, $5 gets you 530 currency. Now, does this make the currency exchange nicer giving more than 500 for $5? No, it leaves you with extra. This is a very common tactic to trick your brain into buying more currency. It's used in pretty much every game with microtransactions. Let's say you get 530, then you spend 500, now you have 30. Well, now the next pull is only 470 so you could spend $4 for two packs of 200, but then you're still short, so you might as well spend the $5 again. Now you'll end up with 60 left over. It continues on and on. Nothing in the cash shop will ever equal exactly some amount of currency you can get because they always want you to have leftover currency. It's scummy and should be illegal.

You only start with one and you unlock a handful of other racers for free through the single player mode. I have cleared the Mickey and Donald Cups and just begun the Goofy cup. All three of them are fun to play, but this game boasts a huge roster of racers. How do you get most of them? Money! I saw a bundle egregiously listed as 75% off (which makes no sense because you can't buy these characters individually) which gives 10 shards for six different characters, unlocking them at 1*, not even enough to use their unique skills. This bundle costs 6,990 currency. If this is 75% off, then these six characters should cost 27,960 currency. If we are to believe the percentage, that breaks down to 10 shards for a character costing 4,660 currency. If you buy that at the lowest package, that breaks down to $46.60 a character. This is another tactic to get people to buy more bundles. There is no actual cost per character so 75% off refers to nothing other than a number they can put up there to make it look like a great buy. I mean, who doesn't want $280 worth of stuff for $70?! Don't fall for it people...

I have seen a lot of scummy gacha games in the past and I don't hate them. I dislike them and warn people to avoid them, sure, but hate? No. This game, I hate. I hate it because it's Disney. I hate it because it's aimed towards children. I hate it because it's pretty. But mostly, I hate it because it's good. It's a game that could have been successful as a full release without a scummy cash shop and gacha mechanics. It's a game that would have had an audience with such a successful set movie properties fueling it. It could have gone the Fortnight route, been free with a cosmetic shop, but instead, they decided to make one of the worst cash shops I have seen to date, one of the best cart racers I have seen to date, and create something so evil, I cannot simply dislike it, I must hate it. Damn you Disney.

EDIT: I needed to crossout part of this review because it's no longer true. What part isn't true? Is it the scummy gacha mechanics? Is it the cost associated to be competitive? Is it a more fair experience for free to play players? Nah, they destroyed the single player mode! It used to be that you had a series of races with rewards between each race, unlocking shards for the big three (Mickey, Donald, Goofy) while slowly learning the mechanics. It was one of the few enjoyable systems in the game, aka, not money mechanics. That has been replaced, however, by a bunch of battle passes. Basically, previous battle passes are not gone but instead remain for unlocking. Unfortunately, this requires money to unlock the premium side. Each battle pass is about $8 and unlocks 2-3 characters. To participate in these battle passes, you have to use racers IN the world. For instance, to do the Little Mermaid cup, you need either Prince Eric, Triton, Ursala, or Ariel. If you don't have any of them, you can't do the races. How do you get those characters? CASH SHOP!

In other words, if I could give this game ANOTHER thumb down, I would.
