That's what they have in mind anyways. That doesn't mean it should be accepted. Idc about what game it is, it's just a straight up hoax as this means that now every developer can abuse the system the same way. Wrongly tag it as "early access" and sell the game as a DLC. All the other bullcrap aside. They did it with Halo Infinite as well. Means everyone can take advantage of the loopholes in Steam's policies. That's not what the store should stand for.
What better place would you suggest other than the game's own dedicated forums for discussions? I'm no activist lol. I just provide customer-based feedback. In their Discord, people are not allowed to give feedback as they get IP banned and silenced. (you can look this up in a bunch of threads that people made)
It's not about the 30$. I would have gladly paid them for it. Problem is, i can't. The game is not available. And the only way to play it is to purchase a non-refundable 30$ DLC. Why not just sell the game for 30$ and add a "supporter's pack" DLC for those who want to pay more to get more? Plenty of other games do it, but Gameloft deliberately chose not to. It's not about the price. It's about the fact that this "should be" an early access title. But it's not. It is a polished and finished product that just abuses its early access state to sell DLCs and claim they're part of the "erly access" development process. They're smart, but i think we should be smarter than them and say "Nice try but, NO!"
Funny enough if you look at the success of Dreamlight Valley and its in-game shop. Cause there all you can buy are a few cosmetics. It's not pay2win, and doesn't have 25 different currencies, nor any grind as it's the case here. I think Speedstorm could be an equally big success without all this bullcrap. But it's looking very grim as the playerbase is already shrinking by the hour, rather than growing. Which is a good thing though. Shows the company that a "good" game with pay2win mechanics isn't selling. Imagine if they'd remove the bullcrap. People would actually buy and play it.
You cant even buy ingame things with really money yet. You simply cant., At this point there are no microtransactions. Stop judging things that arent even part of the game yet.
You could have easily not purchased it but you did. So you’re supporting this. “Preditory” you can’t even spell it correctly, I bet you don’t even know what it means xD
So far I'm loving the game, I've not spent a single penny on microtransactions as there are none.
The people making comments about microtransactions haven't the slightest clue what they're talking about, you earn everything in game just from playing. Yes, you have to grind but the grind is quite fun due to the gameplay.
