Game should be removed from the storefront
Honestly, i think everyone would be better off if the lootbox policies in some countries would spread over to Steam. I was very willing to pay the 30$ "support" for early access, knowing it would go f2p. But the issue is:

The game is not even available for 30$ and you're being forced to pay for a 30$ DLC. That's the first red flag.
Second red flag is the whole rng and in-game shop system which is equivalent to that of a mobile game. It's not just car skins but entire gameplay features like characters.
Third red flag is more a personal preference: I don't want to see 3 different packages ranging from 30 to 70 dollars, on day 1 of an early access title.
They're completely abusing the whole system.

From what i've seen, this is not your typical early access title. The game is too polished and feature complete to be an alpha/beta. This is a hoax.

I can only appeal to Steam, to remove this game as it is not what early access stands for. I hope it will get banned in at least a few countries as the most important is to send a clear message towards developers who think they could get away with such a release.

WE DON'T WANT THESE SALES PRACTICES!

They don't care, too big to fail unfortunately.

Let the whales lose their money in a smartphone ecosystem. Play the game once it's free and don't spend a single cent on it. When you're bored, go to the next title in your backlog.

That's what they have in mind anyways. That doesn't mean it should be accepted. Idc about what game it is, it's just a straight up hoax as this means that now every developer can abuse the system the same way. Wrongly tag it as "early access" and sell the game as a DLC. All the other bullcrap aside. They did it with Halo Infinite as well. Means everyone can take advantage of the loopholes in Steam's policies. That's not what the store should stand for.

Yeah, if you want to be an activist, you are doing it in the wrong place.

honestly, this is at $30 is a way better value than the new mariokart dlc's combined, it gets boring when you got nothing to grind. at least this is a fresh feel for a little while.

What better place would you suggest other than the game's own dedicated forums for discussions? I'm no activist lol. I just provide customer-based feedback. In their Discord, people are not allowed to give feedback as they get IP banned and silenced. (you can look this up in a bunch of threads that people made)

It's not about the 30$. I would have gladly paid them for it. Problem is, i can't. The game is not available. And the only way to play it is to purchase a non-refundable 30$ DLC. Why not just sell the game for 30$ and add a "supporter's pack" DLC for those who want to pay more to get more? Plenty of other games do it, but Gameloft deliberately chose not to. It's not about the price. It's about the fact that this "should be" an early access title. But it's not. It is a polished and finished product that just abuses its early access state to sell DLCs and claim they're part of the "erly access" development process. They're smart, but i think we should be smarter than them and say "Nice try but, NO!"

Funny enough if you look at the success of Dreamlight Valley and its in-game shop. Cause there all you can buy are a few cosmetics. It's not pay2win, and doesn't have 25 different currencies, nor any grind as it's the case here. I think Speedstorm could be an equally big success without all this bullcrap. But it's looking very grim as the playerbase is already shrinking by the hour, rather than growing. Which is a good thing though. Shows the company that a "good" game with pay2win mechanics isn't selling. Imagine if they'd remove the bullcrap. People would actually buy and play it.

How horrible must someones life be if all you do is come up with bogus nonsense to hate on a random game just because you are too poor to pay 29,99 for it?

You cant even buy ingame things with really money yet. You simply cant., At this point there are no microtransactions. Stop judging things that arent even part of the game yet.

The game is f2p, the DLC is if you want to play the game early and get exclusive premium items that won’t be available when the game leaves early access/becomes free to play late 2023/early 2024. There are no red flags about any of this. I think you’re an adult and can make your own decision. You don’t even have the game so I’m not sure why you’re even commenting on the gameplay aspect. And who are you to even appeal to Valve to remove the game? Lol.

Back again hey, so how's that premium currency going when you lose half of it in the shop day 1. Paying 1.5k for items to level up a racer is kinda steep. I'm not poor so please get the hell out of this sorry your to poor for £30, the system is not good and you defending it is nice but also making a little mockery of it, you will either quit the game cause it's greedy or play and enjoy it. Most people will quit soon cause of prices, then server number drops. And long match ques

It's preditory, I have it can say it's very much so. Now you enjoy the game good but don't defend these prices cause it could end bad for future games that we love and played more then this.

You could have easily not purchased it but you did. So you’re supporting this. “Preditory” you can’t even spell it correctly, I bet you don’t even know what it means xD

I want to preface this comment by saying I bought the game on Xbox as I had a £25 digital gift card, so ended up paying 99p for it. I also played the demo of Disney Speedstorm when it was on Steam and loved it.

So far I'm loving the game, I've not spent a single penny on microtransactions as there are none.

The people making comments about microtransactions haven't the slightest clue what they're talking about, you earn everything in game just from playing. Yes, you have to grind but the grind is quite fun due to the gameplay.
