So, what's the verdict on offline play?
I see some people saying the game is or was playable offline without internet, but then now I see there are others saying the game is always online with no offline whatsoever.

Can anyone please double and triple confirm if this game has some kind of offline play? At least for local races or vs bots? When I say OFFLINE, I mean truly OFFLINE, with my internet cable disconnected and no access to the internet.

Thanks!!!

I've not experienced any internet connectivity issues with the recent update yet but, if there weren't any changes, based on my 'offline' experience from before was that you can only play local races/private tracks and nothing else that gives any kind of reward like the single player limited/daily/season races.

I'm guessing it was made this way (always online ideally) because rewards are monitored by the game server to prevent people from giving themselves items/coins from like cheat engine or something.

Huh, I see. Any idea if you can play with bots while offline?

Wow... that 2nd screenshot with the note:
This item is awaiting analysis by our automated content check system. It will be temporarily hidden until we verify that it does not contain harmful content (e.g. links to websites that attempt to steal information).

It's just the multiplayer screen which shows what options you'd want to play and everything locked except for Local Race/MP XD

Anyways, I can't play right now but if I'm recalling correctly, there were no bots that you can race against. Hoping someone else could confirm this atm.

So I went and installed to give it a try and see for myself, but lol I need to be at collection lvl 3 to even give the offline mode a try, and by the looks of it, it takes a while to get there.

I give up. When you or if you have a chance, please let me know if you were able to confirm availability of bots offline.

Thanks!

You can actually play it offline.

Offline -> Multiplayer -> Local -> 1 player or up to 4 local players -> can add bots, change the rounds, change the speed, etc -> select a track they're all unlocked by default -> select a racer, they're all unlocked by default and have everything. It even allows you to play racers early that will be released mid season.

The unlock requirement for multiplayer is beating the tutorial boss, because it's a guided tutorial up until that point. Takes 20-30 minutes. Also try starting the game with your ethernet pulled, it should give you the option straight away.

Little Strawberry got it right, I've only messed around with that mode twice so I wasn't very familiar with it.

You can set it with 0-7 bots and laps at 1-8 (with a single player). Pretty sure max at 8 total if you have other (local) players.

Wow, that's pretty generous for a f2p. All tracks and racers unlocked in offline play? and with bots too? Holly molly, I am going to reinstall the game asap and give it another try.

Thanks a bunch for all the answers!!

i can play offline when my internet drops out, never seen an option for it by choice though, you'd have to unplug your ethernet/disconnect from wifi then launch game i reckon
you will also not be able to earn any rewards ofcourse, so are just racing local/bots on private matches

Earning rewards really don't matter as long as I can play offline. Same as when I play Mario Kart, I just play for fun, not to earn rewards. Specially since people said all racers are unlocked in offline.
