I think this is a "You get what you pay for" sorta thing but....I'm still iffy on the price (I got it at discount/sale too). So...I'm tentatively going to give it a thumbs down (I'll explain in point 2). The game is interesting if you're really into grinding. If you're not into grinding, this is a hard pass.

The game's story...doesn't exist. I was taken back at first that there was no tutorial, I was thrown into battle right away, and I was lost for about 20 seconds then realized...you don't do anything. This is a semi-idle game that is bad at the idle part. The combat is fully automated, there is no control there. That said, most battles take 6-12 seconds, and you have to constantly re-enter or go to the next map/area. So you still have to manage it but without any kind of actual game play. You set a formation of up to 9 characters and you can equip them with stuff and little things to grind to make them more powerful, which I'm not gonna lie, is pretty fun in its own way.

The game is okay for what it is, the art is pretty. However I found a couple bugs (I can't tell if they are visual only or if something is half-implemented or what...there is two high-tier items that you get that show one thing but then give you something else). I *was* and am still willing to swap this to a thumbs up, but my criteria for that is the devs actually respond to my bug report. Since there is only like... 4 topics, I can see they are hardly active and they may or may not respond. It feels like this game could have more added to it and there are many ways it can be expanded I think, but I don't think the devs are paying attention or working on this anymore (given its current state and their last response was in March).

Be prepared to grind a lot in this game, I've said it before, but unless you're pretty ingenious with your formations (which honestly takes late game to get the correct units), you'll be getting units at level 1, and you need to get them gear, up their tier, upgrade their gear...its a bit of a slow process. Although failure doesn't seem to do anything, so...there is that.

So...that's everything on this. I will change my recommendation if I see the devs respond (even more if they actually fix the bug, its not like its game breaking. I beat the game without said items). This can maybe amuse you for a few hours (I was amused, but I'm very simple minded), but all in all its not really a game. Keep that in mind when making your purchase decision. Watch the video the gameplay is...well that. Only you don't do anything. You'll basically be watching it do that the whole time.
