WTF is a souls-LITE??
"An art driven souls-lite game set in the rebirth of your home planet."

Seriously, what in the world does "lite" mean in this context?! It's only a liiiittle bit hard but not too hard? You only lose half your souls when you die? Does it come with an easy mode? You can't just slap "lite" on something and expect it to be a thing, lmao. I'm dying to know what that actually means.

Pretty obvious to me, but hey, I guess you just really need something to be hypercritical about, eh diddums?

I mean:
roguelike/roguelite
soulslike/soulslite

Basic use of commonly used descriptors. I have a pretty good idea of what to expect based on that. Game looks quite good. Wishlisted.

Your whole post comes across as troll-lite.

As some body who hasn't played a darks souls game - or any like it - im interested to. What DOES it mean? What mechanics are taken out that makes it 'lite'? Is it just easier dark souls mechanics? how is it easier? saying something is lite doesn't make sense unless you are given context. iPhone games tend to have lite versions, for example. You can pretty easily guess it means that it has ads or is somehow just a demo of the actual app. But souls lite? How does that compare? I hope you all can actually help me understand.

I played the demo and answered my own question: you have limited heals and are given some basic set of weapons to work down enemies with. In my limited experience this translates to using your crappy pistol to get some free damage off then figuring out how to find the openings in their attacks between rolls. So basically combat is just like you see in dark souls videos where someone rolls around for like half an hour between hitting the enemy once or twice.

dying gives you a tenth of your health back (and restores no items whatsoever) and respawns all enemies in the room. If you leave the mini zone you are in they all respawn.

also look out for mutual death mechanics I guess like suicide bombers.

so there you go, I guess that's souls-lite.

It means the game is maiden-less. And you can't become an Elden Lord.

Soulslikes are hard for a lot of people. For some, not so much. For many who have played through several times, not difficult in the slightest. Does the game cease to be a soulslike for those people?
