Heroes V servers are long gone. Nowadays the people arrange games and simulate LAN networks with Tunngle or Hamachi.

I would advise using Tunngle or Game Ranger software.

I'm on Hamachi. Whatever the latest is. I tested it out with another friend, and it worked great. After both had Hamachi installed, we started a game, he hosted, but not hard to figure out, and I joined, through the LAN link using the Hamachi LAN.

@ Lunar... Ubisoft long ago desided to cut service for many of their titles for whatever reason. There is no longer any online service from techs, support, and no local community. They discontinued their online servers etc... which hosted all their online games.

You can still play MP using HOTSEAT if you had many to play with in the same room... or if you connected to a Network server with others who had the game, like a friend brought over his CPU to your house and you all plugged in... creating a LAN (Local Area Network)... and it would still work.

So with that said, there have been the creations of global servers creating secured VPN (Virtual Private Network) for those who are not physically able to connect in a LAN, creating a LAN community across the net... you could be next door, or on seperate continents... either way, you connect through a VPN, and its as if your on a LAN, and than you set up a MP game through the lobby screen of a LAN... and the game doesn't know the diff.

There many options... as listed. The most common one I've seen recommended on the HeroesCommunity forum was Hamachi, and I have tried and tested it with my only HOMM 5 friend... and It worked!

Do any of you use the PEST mod on GameRanger? I'm having troubles getting GameRanger to launch the PEST mod over the vanilla exe. I have the PEST mod in my TotE bin like instructions say, but running into the aforementioned problem.

Hi guys, I foun a way. Install TeamViewer to your pc and then proceed to play Hotseat, the other guys can play beacouse they can control you mouse. Have fun!
