How do I "counter" Fortress and Necromancers?

I typically play as Sylvan, but my friends play as the aforementioned groups. I get absolutely eviscerated against them, its like no matter how strong I get there isn't anything I can do, they just shred my units.

The only thing I can suggest is to develop strategies against them. against at least one of them

Rush them quickly before they make a horde.
Fortress and Necro Tier 1/2/3 units are very weak when they arent massive, sylvans archers can defeat their in 2/3 turns if you defend well your range units.
