multiplayer error 0.2.0 (TotE 3.1 PEST 1.3)

Hello,

I've got an problem here and can't find any solution on the internet about it. I have 3 buds to play this game with Gameranger and with one it just works. no issues. but with the other 2 we got the error 0.2.0 we even got the same steam version and in the main menu it states version 3.1, but we just can't go into each other. neither custom nor vanilla maps. not even if they do the lobby. so maybe someone here could help me with that.

Hello Der Patriot,

This is common error, it means your games are not the same, one of you has mod or patch, or map with custom stuff that is interfering with game options. Here is what I can advise you.

- Remove all maps from <game folder>/Maps except the one you are going to play
- Go to <game folder>/data and remove index.bin and RMGTemp files and folders if you can find such. Those are created usually during Random Map Generation and can cause issues.
- Remove all hotseat and Single Player save files (delete or just move the folder away for the game session).
- Make sure none of you have any mods besides the one that you have decided originally, and the mods are the same version.
