The game is suddenly in dutch (Nederlands) and I have no idea why. It should be in german, but that is no option anymore - not even english is an option. That's not good, I can't speak dutch. :D

Just go to game options (first option on the left bellow biomes) and then first option on the top right is the language. Change it to German and you should be good to go my friend :cchearts:

That's the problem, there was no german available - or english for that matter.

Why is the default language suddenly changed? Like Nova900, I can't even select english anymore!

Yup, same issue here. My English language has changed to dutch, and there is no longer an English option. In fact looking at the list compared to an older version of the game I have saved elsewhere, a huge amount of languages have disappeared. :cozycastondeath:

Very unusual; we need some more details to diagnose the issue (as we currently cannot reproduce it).

On what OS is this happening?
Can you try switching your branch to "1.11.2" (should be identical). Does the problem still exist?
Can you run "verify integrity of game files". Does the problem still exist?
Finally, in your "SteamApps" folder, under OpenTTD, there should be a "lang" folder with "english.lng". Is that file present?

If any of you can help us out with this, that would be greatly appreciated!

I'm on windows 10. I am using the btproclient, so validating files will give errors.
I solved the problem and now i cant reproduce it. Like Albion said before though, when the problem occurred i had very limited options language wise.

I solved it by opting into the 1.11.1 beta, played a couple of games and after reading your comment opted out of the beta (so i went to the current version 1.11.2). The problem didn't return.

I doubt its the btproclient thats the problem as i dont think it messes around with the language files, but i'm not sure.

I think this is exactly the reason in your case :) Your assumption sadly enough is wrong: btpro changes language files. And this is what is causing this issues.

Basically, what I would guess, is that this happened:

- You had 1.11.1 installed via Steam.
- You manually installed btpro client on top of this. Steam doesn't track this, and is fully unaware that you did this.
- We pushed 1.11.2, Steam downloads only the changed files.
- For 1.11.2, this is our executable and only a select few languages that changed. Most noticeable, "english" didn't change, and "dutch" did.
- 1.11.2 starts up, and tries to load "english". But it is build for a different version (the btpro client version). As such, that language is refused. But as "dutch" was downloaded for 1.11.2, it is accepted, and the game picks that language.

Personally, I would like to advise you not to overwrite files in the SteamApps folder (Adding files next to it is fine; overwriting is the issue). For many games this is troublesome, and OpenTTD is no exception in this.
If you would like to run btpro client via Steam, that is absolutely possible. Just install it in another folder and add it to Steam as a custom game. You can play it via Steam, friends will see you are playing OpenTTD, and everything.
As benefit, when Steam updates your game automatically, it won't leave it in a partial state as it did now, as the btpro is in a folder it is not auto-updating :)

Hope this helps!

как не можешь построить гараж? выбираешь дороги в верхнем меню, там есть ангар, коричневый. Его поставишь и там купишь

Я понял свою ошибку, я поставил слишком ранний год, приношу свои извинения за беспокойство
