how to make trees transparent/less visible
I'm having trouble spotting tracks/roads in areas with very dense trees, is there a way to make the trees transparent/less visible so i can see the road/tracks better?

Not that I am aware of.

It is one of the things which was absent in the original and which I wish could be solved. A simple four way rotation (as in Emperor the Rise of the Middle Kingdom) or a key press flatten terrain facility (as in Stronghold Crusader) would be really useful while still being true the original era of this game.

Perhaps, maybe in the future the great team who have revived this vintage game will add one or both in - I hope. Please!

Check the option menu, i'm sure there was a key for it.

The way I get around this issue is to purchase the land around the roads / rail area, so that I can then see.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Exactly! And for those who prefer not to use keyboard shortcuts, if you go to settings (left of the "save" icon), pick the 6th option which should be "transparency settings" where you can click/unclick transparency of trees but also separately buildings and other elements in the game.
