New to open TTD. Taking the bus.
I'm new to the game taking things slow and experimenting. So this will sound like a basic question to some.

In regards to bus systems. Is the intent for me to put multiple stops all around a single city? Or is the intent for me to have one bus stop, like a greyhound and have them go from cities and towns?

I use buses for short journeys only, but, you've got to experiment. You will quickly learn why buses long journeys aren't a great idea.

Larger cities can definitely supply enough passengers for multiple bus stops, but personally I prefer to serve these cities with airports and train stations, keeping bus stops for the really small towns that don't generate enough passengers to make aircraft or trains economically viable.

Buses are the way to quickly grow a city. Having 4 or 5 bus stations in a town, with buses going between them will make a city grow quicker than a single train station.
If you are just starting out and don't have much money try to plan around where you will put a train station.
I like to play realistically and depending on the size of the city, 2 or even 3 train stations doing long distance travel, with 5 or 6 bus stations moving passengers around the town, as well as feeding the train stations. One of my train stations will have a bus hub for long distance bus travel to smaller towns that are not big enough for a train station.

I didn't add the multi stop bus route on my current run, and did notice the city I chose to grow was moving slower. I feel like If I placed the stops better it would have also made it tougher for the AI to place all its airports.

After getting a good 4 hours session in I am noticing busing to not be profitable, I read that planes were op, but trains are the money maker for me atm.
