% transported help
So I've been transporting coal from the coal mines to the power plant, and even though i am transporting enough to the point where my train cars are never 100% full, it still only says ~45% transported. Why is this?

For starters, I would suggest having your train orders set to 'Full Load'. This way, they will stay on the station until all their cars are full and then leave. Make sure that there is a second train already waiting to be filled by the time the first train leaves the station. Not only is this is a good way to get a higher % Transported, it's also more efficient in the terms of profits.

Beyond that, it's all about station rating. The rating of a station is a whole other variable that you you can raise by several different factors. To upgrade your station rating you need to do the following factors:

1: Use the fastest possible vehicle to transport the goods;
2: The newer the vehicles, the better the rating; (Its not worth buying new trains every year to get the maximum rating.)
3: Look at the name of the statue, find the town that has that name, and build a statue of the company owner in there. One statue per town is optimal.
4: You can run an ad-campaign in the town that the station belongs to. This will temporarily upgrade your station rating.
5: Have as little cargo waiting on the station as possible. (Hence the full load)
6: Always have a train waiting to pick up cargo.

For a more indepth guide on station rating you can check the manual here:
https://wiki.openttd.org/en/Manual/Game%20Mechanics/#station-rating

Do note, that it's not exactly necessary to get 100% rating. It might feel good, but it's near-on impossible to get and maintain an above 90% transported percentage.

I hope this helps a little. There seems to be some background operations going on as well, which you can not influence, that lower your % Transported rating.

Goodluck!

Thanks a lot. This kinda condensed everything down into one neat little package. I'll try to keep these in mind. :lunar2019grinningpig:
