Early game needs a little bit of balancing.
I was save scumming day 2, and by that I mean on day 1 I save around 11:35 pm and sleep for 30 minutes so I can reset the day over and over (for good quests or whatever else.)

It is possible to wake up on day 2 with a serious diseases such as smallpox, which is kind of lame because it's basically impossible to cure diseases that early because you'll be way too broke.

Also, the quest system (NPCs asking you for favors through mail or bulletin board) seems a little imbalanced early on because you can get quests that cannot be completed such as asking for complicated recipes you can't afford to make yet.

I think this early part of the game needs to be balanced a little - the player character should not be able to random catch a disease as soon as they wake up for the first week or so. It's kinda bull crap anyway because there's no obvious way you caught the disease and you can just randomly wake up with it. It's impossible to afford medicine for it unless you sell everything you have which will cripple you too much resource wise to continue playing.

Also, obviously the game shouldn't be asking you to make complicated food that early on for the NPCs. Maybe wait a couple weeks before the NPCs start asking for more advance recipes that require you to build a barn and have animals available for resources. Even then, the player probably still can't afford it but at least it's a more reasonable time.

getting seriously ill early on is bad luck ... sure, but if it bothers you ... just disable diseases for the first week. You really can make the game hella easy playing with the settings. You do not really have to cure every disease by buying medicine either, resting enough plus enough food is an option too, just not as safe.
The quests aren't designed to be 100% completable either ... as far as i can tell its more like ... the villagers just needs this particular item atm and you have the chance to help out, but don't have to. When asked for specific foragables you might not find them before the quest timer runs out. Just complete what you can and don't accept the rest.

They definitely need to do something about early game diseases because it can kill your blacksmith while you're doing his questline and it will break the whole questline. At least make important NPCs early on invincible for a little bit until the questline is done!

Hm that would kinda ruin the whole point of having sickness in the game, but important quest lines (not random dailies, but introductory quests) should not be lost in any case. You should be able to continue the quest line with the next blacksmith. That i definitely agree with.

It would just be temporary until the questline is finished, it wouldn't hurt gameplay too much unless the player took advantage of it and just never did the questline intentionally.

True, would require some kind of time limit in that case
