How do you use the Composter?

Once certain items have rotted away, they turn into an item and you put that in your hand, and into the composter

Oooooh...I thought you could just throw in whatever was organic to get turned into fertilizer. What kind of "certain items" are we talking about?

Any food items that have a countdown to how many days it will expire in, will turn into rotten goods that you can then use towards the composter.

Then after you throw the stuff in the composter you have to wait a little bit more days until you get the bag of fertilizer item.

Iirc if you put in 20 rot you get a fertilizer or 2 every day or so

How do the worms factor in? The tooltip for worms are that they are used in the composter and for fishing, however if I try to put them in a composter, the highlight goes red and it doesn't accept them. Granted, I only have 1 rot in the composter at the moment. Are the worms used once the composter is full?

Unfortunately yes, we didn't realize that this was the only way to get rot so people who turned off item decay would not have a way to get this. We'll look into making a way to get rot with decay off in a future update.

I think we planned on this but never got it in. We'll look into fixing the tooltip or inserting worms helps somehow in a future update.

Allowing worms to be used as well as rot would solve both of your problems. Worms will be available to people with item decay off.

You can use worms to make bait, I think you learn the recipe at level 1 fishing
