Empty houses with no NPC's?

So I just had my game on faster speed to check some things.
After almost a year I noticed that none was no longer living at The fish shack, Sweet dough bakery and The local iron. All the big families are squeezed into the other homes.
As I play with no sickness all the roles are always filled and no new NPC's move in.
So at this rate all the NPC's could end up living under the same roof.
Cause it doesn't seem that the NPC's from town can move into an empty house?

There's a bug happening with how people are taking houses, will look into it

Ive had it to where the mayor dies and I go more than 2 weeks with no mayor.. Im like put me in the game coach
