Can't turn off fishing mini game

I have gone into options and turned off the fishing mini game. Saved. When I go to fish the mini game always comes up. I don't have a controller. I have wrist issues and struggle with the mini game. Other than this I absolutely love this game.

Are you turning it off after you load into the game? (Main menu options are for new games.) If so I can look at your save if you send it to [e-mail]

Saves are located:

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Unwound Games\Echoes of the Plum Grove\saves

Having the same issue, Do I need to start a new game for the option to take effect?

I load the game. Go to options. Turn off mini game. Then I continue into my current game. I am new here.

You don't have to start a new game for the options to take effect but you have to be playing a save of the game when you change it.

No problem! Try to load into your save so that you can start fishing but before you do hit escape to access the main menu and change the option there without getting our of your current save.
