Surrendering to Gig early for a second cycle.

I heard that some secret stuff can only be accessed on a second cycle and beyond. Is there any negative to getting the second cycle early?

The only way to end the game early and go into NG+ is to beat Feinne the first time around (before Gig offers to help), I believe. Surrendering to Gig only leads to a bad end.

By NG+ are we talking about cycle 2?

Then it does work. I asked for Gig's power after getting wiped out by Feinne, killed Feinne and got a Bad End with option to save and start cycle 2 after that.

Yeah it works, I usually get 10 cycles to prepare for the Cat's Cradle room

no it doesn't you just get a bad end and no clear data save for a ng+

IIRC, isn't the only way to get to the Demon End, or whatever it was called, was to give into Gig?

I can't remember the details on unlocking the secondary story mode.

If you mean the Demon Path, the choice comes much earlier (as in, as soon as you receive the sword).

Well, it does work. You get to save afterwards and the save does say cycle 2, and it unlocks inspections, the use of edicts in town, and the decor and edicts shops. Was that changed or did it always work like that?

Only thing you don't get from doing that is Gideon units you need to complete a full normal path or demon path for those. *edit* Not sure if they unlock from actually beating Feinne or not.

They don't, you need to see a proper ending to unlock them, not a bad end.
