Worm Silk

In the "Worms Breeding" area there are some Worm Silk; however, I have not been able to find out what they are for or how to use them.

Can someone please explain what their purpose is, and where or how to use them?

if you read the interface in confection tab it says it's just bragging rights as it's not used in the game currently. no pity system for them and just a small chance of dropping that we have seen so far. 200 days into the game and only have 120 silk worms here.
