What's League?

When I click the "Info" button, there's an entry for "League."

It states: "League is a side save. You can switch between your main game save and your League save any time after you start a League by hitting the button on the main battle screen (located below the menu button on the right side of the screen)."

No button's there. Is League a relic of a past patch and is different from "Multiplayer"?

League was a game mode where everyone could start over from 1-1 with a blank slate but with some bonuses and then get rewards in the main game based on how far they got during the league season. There was only league season so far, and it already ended, so it's not currently part of the game.

It's different from multiplayer (which also isn't currently active), which just consists of buying upgrades and attacking a shared boss.
