Question about pets
This is probably a stupid question but it's never been clear to me.

If you equip a pet, it gains experience which in turns levels up its bonuses.

So, say I equip a pet, it gets to level 100, and then I unequip it. Do I still get the benefit from its boosted bonuses? Or does that only apply the currently equipped pets?

Am I supposed to be boosting all of my pets? Because I only have 1 team for my farmer, and another 8 teams for expeditions, but the rest are just sitting around doing nothing.

Is this why it's been getting exponentially more and more difficult to gain Ascension levels? I barely made it to A15 and still probably have another month (or 2?) before I can get to A16.

The pet bonuses only apply to equipped pets. There's no point in leveling up a pet you don't intend to use.

It's a good idea to have multiple pet teams, though. In particular, you might want a dedicated team for item rating, reincarnation, and whack score bonus. While just idling, none of those bonuses matter, but when you're specifically doing the associated action, you want the biggest bonus you can get while ignoring everything else.

Ok, that's what I thought. I was just afraid I was missing out one some huge source of bonuses.

A bonus you want on your main team that you run the most of the time is card power. You can never have to much card power, because it increases the amount of temporary card power gained from your expeditions. You don't need in ALL the time, because it's a stat that is tracked by the % of time you had it on average during the time an expedition took.

Lets say your main team has plenty of card power, but you switch to your item rating pet team for 6 minutes, then you only lose 10% of thecard power benefits if you had 1 hour expeditions going on in the background.

Other really useful stats to have on your main team: protein, healthy potatoes, milk, residue, and then whatever you can get. Those are stats that provide all around bonuses to plenty of mechanics in the game.

A lil more advanced trick:
Promoting pets increases the % growth of their bonuses per pet level.

This is really useful for +item rating in particular. Two reasons:
1) item rating will always boost all important stats (cause your equipment has all teh good stuff already)
2) some of the earliest pets in the game have +item rating, they are even part of pet combos that make it easier to quickly farm high rarity equip. This is noteworthy because you a) only care about farming gear with your item rating pet team; and b) early pet = easy to capture, aka easy to promote. Prime example: Nuts.

PS:
Card power, item rating and pet damage are the holy trinity of progress.

One would think reincarnation exp% is even better, but the trinity as i just called it >>>is<<< the main source of additional reincarnation exp%, plus plenty of other benefits.
