It's a good idea to have multiple pet teams, though. In particular, you might want a dedicated team for item rating, reincarnation, and whack score bonus. While just idling, none of those bonuses matter, but when you're specifically doing the associated action, you want the biggest bonus you can get while ignoring everything else.
Ok, that's what I thought. I was just afraid I was missing out one some huge source of bonuses.
Lets say your main team has plenty of card power, but you switch to your item rating pet team for 6 minutes, then you only lose 10% of thecard power benefits if you had 1 hour expeditions going on in the background.
Other really useful stats to have on your main team: protein, healthy potatoes, milk, residue, and then whatever you can get. Those are stats that provide all around bonuses to plenty of mechanics in the game.
A lil more advanced trick:
Promoting pets increases the % growth of their bonuses per pet level.
This is really useful for +item rating in particular. Two reasons:
1) item rating will always boost all important stats (cause your equipment has all teh good stuff already)
2) some of the earliest pets in the game have +item rating, they are even part of pet combos that make it easier to quickly farm high rarity equip. This is noteworthy because you a) only care about farming gear with your item rating pet team; and b) early pet = easy to capture, aka easy to promote. Prime example: Nuts.
PS:
Card power, item rating and pet damage are the holy trinity of progress.
One would think reincarnation exp% is even better, but the trinity as i just called it >>>is<<< the main source of additional reincarnation exp%, plus plenty of other benefits.
