I wonder why people cheat in a clicker game. Is it because of the ranking list ?

I think its fun to compare progress in the league, but it gets kindda meaningless when the ranking list gets poluted real fast after a league starts

The basic answer is that people play how they want to play. It's a single player game, so they're not hurting anyone else. And it's hard to even agree on what would constitute cheating, since there aren't any listed rules that could be violated.

I don't think it's productive to worry about whether other people "earned" their achievements. It doesn't affect you. Also, the idea that only those who "work hard" should have achievements can lead to unfortunate places. It's a stance against cheating, sure, but it can also be used against cooperation, using guides, or just playing smarter (sometimes hard work is just inefficient work).

I suppose he leagues are the closest we have to a meaningful competition (rather than just a "who's played the longest"), so yeah, I can see wanting to see your rank for that.

However, let's not forget that the game has pay to win microtransactions.

Nonsense argument. It's a singleplayer game. People are allowed to play their singleplayer game in exactly the way they want. Them getting their achievements affects you in absolutely zero way.
Also, you're going to cry knowing that anyone, at any time, can activate any achivements on Steam instantly.

Yes I am OK with it, it's a game you play it your way they play it their way important thing is to both sets or players are enjoying themselves.

i find singelplayer and idle games if there dont get reward from leaderboard is dosent matter,

in a mmo or pvp cheater no go or get reward from hight leaderboard

i dont like cheats ( on ly past gta for fun xd ) but without this and in singelplayer or for there ge tnthing can make it it dont hurt you , is only there fast done and cry why is to short or to easy and get fast boring and there are gone after time and next one is comming

in each game or moste have leaderbords have cheater some see good and some cheat very less for dont notice this and another cheat hard

for my self so long cheater dont disturbme or make my game pleasure destroy dosent matter if people must cheat in a idle game xd

Sort of. The multiplayer is one-way: doing well on multiplayer gives bonuses in the main game, but the opposite isn't true: nothing from the main game affects multiplayer. Also, the multiplayer is all handled server-side, so cheating there wouldn't be possible.

the leaderboard only doesn't count as multiplayer

multiplayer counts interaction and playing together with other players, and not a table where there is no reward outside of the season and event, so who cares if someone cheats there

it's just an indicator of who is cheating so that you can find people better because they expose you themselves in my eyes

but again no reward, no playing together, no mutual interaction, so who cares apart from jealousy when people cheat,

every game that has or uses a table will have cheaters
that's nothing new
