Newbie Questions

So, I've been playing this game for a little while and although I've searched I've not really come across a decent answer to my questions. It feel like this should be ezpz and I'm just dumb, or I missed the in-game indicator for it but here goes:

1) How do I change my class? I noticed there are classes and someone said here on the forum that they should be leveled around equally, etc. But I can't figure out where to switch.

2) When I'm in the world view and I read about Area 1, World 1, Easy level (the chicken), it says that "Item Max Rating" is 50, yet I'm currently doning a shirt with item rate 60. Does this mean I don't get the full bonus or it's somehow capped to whatever 50 would be?

EDIT: When I compare it with an item of rating 32, it shows a red 29, indicating that it's 29 levels lower (I assume?). Which would even indicate a level of 61 (61 - 32 = 29).

3) Is there some kind of item merge function or are worse items always just for scrapping? The game info said something about materials, but I can't see that anywhere. Have I just not unlocked them yet? It said something about it showing top-right, but it's just a greyed out box for me, with a cool dragon nonetheless.

1) assuming u have unlock reincarnation (the 8th button at the bottom) u press that button, u select the class u want at the left side and click the "Click to reincarnate" button.

2)the max item rating is..... the max rating a item that drops in that area can have, i believe the minimum is 50% of that so if it says "Max item rating 250" all the items that drop will be between 125 and 250.

Bonuses are the number of stats a item can have, for example a bonus of 2 can be 'potato + class exp' or 'class exp + skulls' but CANT be 'potato + class exp + skulls'
when a item drops
the game rolls for bonus 2 (equal to your bonus chance, click the button at the bottom right to see ur stats)
If yes it rolls for bonus 3 etc until it fails or reach max number of bonuses

3)there isnt merge, also u might have not unlocked scraping yet, i remember myself being confused as well

YOUR EDIT* the red -29 is how much lower it is compared to what u have equipped, yes.
the white is the rating of that specific item, not what u have equipped.
-If u have a 32 rating equipped and u click a item with -29, that item is 3 rating.
-If u have a 61 equipped and the item u click says -29 then that item is 32 rating
-If the item u click has with white [61] and with red [-29] then what u have equipped is 90 rating

The edit was unclear. The item I found is rating 60 (although the area says max 50) and the other item I found was rating 32, which is why it said 29 (I'm assuming rounding error or something somewhere) - so I still don't understand how I got the rate 60 item in the first place. Thanks for all the other answers though!

I've now spent all morning in area 1-1 and have gotten one Common Strong Training Armor of rank 65. The item I have of level 60 was also a Common Strong Training Armor. I am now 100% sure of which area I was in (I haven't changed at all today) and started with an empty inventory.
